Hooray comment section is back! I have so so so many thoughts on this manga and all of them are good. This is wildly underrated and an instant classic imo. It has such a subdued, literary quality to it, and was honestly quite a sensitive work. It didn’t shy away from Gerard’s uglier behaviors while also showing like how kind he was—a really flawed character who I loved reading about. Jacques was a pleasure, too, but I really found myself most drawn to Gerard’s backstory. That was so well written and sad!
Now that comments have returned I just have to talk about how much I love this manga lmao. When harada isn’t writing some of the most painful things you’ve ever read she’s actually funny as fuck. This was such a fun romp and cuter than I anticipated. The main couple’s development to being like sort of twisted and unbalanced to just sappy and wholesome by the end was so cute uwaah.
Lowkey wanted the cross dresser and the female coworker to get together lol. They seemed evenly matched, but alas.
This was funny but def a little fucked up at times That's exactly what I like about Harada tho. Besides from being able to write the most gut wrenching stories ever, she can turn everything into a comedy as equally

Now that the comment section is back I just HAVE to talk about this manga. It’s seriously incredible, probably one of the more complex and devastating works I’ve read in a while. It’s heavy, twisted, and treats rape with a gravitas that’s rarely seen in yaoi. The ending was superb, their development and toxic codependency developing into something more was just wonderful to read. It really was a thought piece on like how to write a realistic love story that allows for the characters to come back from something as violent and awful as what happened.
Also, you can tell that the mangaka really holds reverence for weenies LOL, they’re so detailed and drawn with a lot of care!

It seems to be an unpopular opinion but I actually really enjoy the sex scenes. They all feel very realistic. There’s sexy moments but there’s a LOT of communication and talking and awkward fumbling every once in a while. It’s honestly really refreshing and cute

I cried a bit reading this. This is such a heartwarming story and the experiences they have are so genuine. It’s a good reminder that while the news and world may seem chaotic, there’s so much beauty and wonder and kindness out there. People, no matter where you live in the world or gender or sexual orientation, are good and loving at their core.
