Comment section back, time to talk about what’s one of my favorite manga. All the mangaka’s works are visually stunning and an absolute unique feast for the eyes, but this one really just took everything to another level. It’s such a quietly beautiful story, I’m such a sucker for historical and stories of healing. The complexity of both characters was refreshing, their relationship was one that gave me the warm fuzzies. They both desperately needed someone who loved them; Yuki needed someone who loved him as he was and as he could be, Matsu needed someone who he could care for with the resources he had. I’m glad they found each other. Truly a beautiful story.
Comment section back so I just gotta gush about Yatamomo. Man. This manga. I’ve got too much of a glass heart to stomach many of harada-sensei’s works, but when I do end up reading them I love them. Yatamomo is no exception, it really was a bittersweet gut punch. Momo is so sad, and goes through so much, but I’m so glad he came out the other side with someone who truly loves him and cares about him. That scene where Yata was like “let’s hold hands and go to sleep together” just had me sobbing like a baby at 4 am. Good shit.
Comment section is back so i just gotta share that this is probably my favorite manga. I’m a sucker for age gaps in general, and pathetic old men, and this just combines that perfectly. I love how gently and sweetly their relationship develops, how they move through life by each others’ side. It’s such a quiet, lovely manga, and it was a joy to see them grow old together. I seriously almost cried!
NO LIGHTSTABER??
