Honestly, Kwon-young's family is so trashy. This could be a cultural thing but the way korean comics usually normalize families absolutely DECIMATING their kids' self-esteem is crazy. Same with the Kang dude like, you just met someone and the first thing you say is a passive-agressive comment, eat shit.
I understand it's to make the main characters look better but ugh, its so frustrating.
Anyways, Juha and KY are hillarious. They're so wrapped up in their own world that they forget TALKING is a thing but I forgive them because they're cute (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
As a Korean American, it's not uncommon for my aunts or uncles to follow up my greetings by telling me "You've gotten so fat" right to my face. Or even say "You've gotten so much prettier since you gotten skinny." I've had some body image issues because of this but whenever I brought it up with my parents they'd tell me that my family was just "worried and cared for me". Which I guess I can understand since Korea has such an unhealthy infatuation with beauty standards, but it really doesn't feel good and has messed with my self esteem lol...
I'm glad it ended well, although a bit utopic its always a nice feeling to see people reunite after changing and forgiving each other
I mean... The parents and Toma's relationship has gotten better, but it's clear that both parties are still somewhat hurt and are keeping their distance. All they did was a facetime call - and don't get me wrong, that's already a huge step, but it's not as utopistic as them meeting in person and making up.
And Kaoru's mom just got a date, she isn't settled with a good partner yet. It's not the perfect future for everyone, but yeah, it's a damn good one for the two main characters.
Oh yeah, I get that. I mean utopic, or maybe thats not the word, because in real life Kaoru was way out of line. Not because he tried to make them talk but meeting with the dad before Toma was ready and then all the omissions of truth, and then Toma ended up calling them because he saw how that was affecting Kaoru? And yes, luckily, Kaoru and grandpa were right and the parents reacted better than he thought they would but that could've ended so bad. Trying to help your partner navigate their relationship with his parents is one thing, but shouldering your way like that is something thats only okay in fiction, Grandpa was right in not trying to force it and Kaoru was impatient. All in all that was very cute and I love them. I want to have gramps as a landlord
Ah I see what you mean now. And I fully agree with you
Thank you for taking the time to explain! (⌒▽⌒)
