Came here after reading something heavy and the first season is very cute and kinda whimsical. It did have some drama that was serious but it was resolved rather quickly and was overall lighthearted. The main characters of the first season are very cute. Cute read but second season is different. More serious tone and the two trigger warnings. Aside from the more serious tone, nothing is necessarily resolved. I thought Dongju had something planned for the company or for revenge? And then all the money issues with Minyoung’s family, are we to assume Dongju just paid off the family for good, and that’s it? They do end up together but i thought more would come to be resolved.
Although I despise sexual assault and rape depictions, the author did an adequate job in portraying the incidents without being graphic. The first assault was a side character being rough and choking Minyoung and the second was the same side character ripping off Minyoung’s clothes and biting him but before anything worse happened Donju appeared.
The main story was interesting and entertaining. I do agree with most in that I wish the story was a little more developed but overall a good read. The side stories can be skipped entirely and personally i wished i skipped them. They ruined the entire story for me.
The side stories are a whole other thing, in a bad way. Thankfully they have a warning before but it kinda messes up the entire story for me. To be fair I only read the first few pages of side story 3 and then the final side story. So I do not know what happens beyond the first rape scene. Personally, I do not understand why authors/illustrators choose to include such graphic sexual assault and rape. I don’t think a reader needs to see the action in order to feel whatever the author is trying to convey. For me, it cheapens and ruins a story.
I didn’t like how Yeom Jueon told Hong Yoosin that he is having those nightmares because he was promiscuous or a slut in his past life. I don’t understand the point of that. He wasn’t a slut. He was literally forced and continuously raped by multiple men. None of that was his fault. It was just so bad how jueon explained it.
So there is no plot. There are storylines that are never addressed or glosses over. It was just dragging on and on. The author just added issue after issue but never resolved them or if they did, it was glossed over.
Not even fun pwp. Seme is just mean and annoying. Uke’s character was fun but overall a hard pass.
Dropped @ chapter 4- forced bdsm/rape. But pretty art at least.
Was super cute for the first few chapters, seemed like it was going to go well but then the rape. Both were supposedly drunk. But not my cup of tea.
Trust most everyone in the comments, the ending is total garbage. I made an account just to give this and another manga a low score.
Starts off super gross with blackmail and coercion. And then once it’s resolved, kinda bleh.
Very long but a cute read. Season 2 was unnecessary and did not enjoy any of that. Sexual assault in season 2
Only read to chapter 47, because random poly storyline appeared. Wouldn’t be a problem if it was before or at least mentioned. But it’s so random. Dropped
Great read. Good communication and any disagreements were cleared up within 2 chapters. The drama was good and didn’t drag on.
I will say everyone is right about the final intimate scene. Very coercion coded. Just kinda icky. It’s chapter 55, you can skip it and chapter 56 has some of it. Young-in even says something like “well I consented….well to half of it.” So very icky. But overall really liked it!!!
Didn’t finish because the way the plot progresses leaves me with little interest. Ash didn’t realize he had feelings for Lyle until after they broke up. So basically the entire 60+ chapters of them together, ash didn’t actually like Lyle romantically and everything Lyle was scared of was true. All of the affectionate actions ash did were just empty. I wish the author at least made it that ash liked Lyle before the break up. I think I’m missing something because why do people love this?
