Based on their conversations, it seems like ML is required (by his father I think?) to follow that girl's every command. So if that girl demands he's her boyfriend or to be FL's bf, then he just follows.

But, I still don't like him, seems like he's going to hurt FL a lot before it gets better. And it seems like FL is just going to be a doormat about it.
