I know my perception was kind of wrong, but i think this has one of the most realistic ending. Well, human teaches us to be less human. Or damn, maybe I'm just a hellish bitter kind of human.
I agree with you. This is one of the closer to reality. So many yaoi story with pairing someone with sad/tragic background story meet with their cheerful always positive partner and happy ever after. In reality, that cheerful positive partner will get tired with their emotional bagage or maybe couldn't even accept what they've thru etc.
