Yukihina created a topic of My Dear Aster

I really enjoy this series, it's a nice change of pace in a sea of rehashed rofans. A lot of comments are asking "why"---why-this, why-that, but for me this series is less about the why, and more about the process and feelings that led Lihen to make these decisions, and how she feels about it during and afterwards. She got to relive her youth, much to her disbelief. Unlike other series, she was not necessarily trying to change her future, but rather was just simply curious to explore chances she wouldn't have before. Her agony, uncertainty, regrets, love and loneliness are expressed so readily even during what may become a regretable decision, and I don't see it as annoying or pathetic.

The Duke of Sagna's confession was beautiful and thoughtful. He truly is trying his best to understand her.

Ch 38 was so funny I coughed a lung out.
Oh Leo...leo leo. Poor Leo, maybe fourth times' the charm!

Some of the comment saying it's unrealistic or written by AI...well, I happen to know quite a few couples exactly like this. ( ̄▽ ̄)lll Wishy-washy and toxic couples do exist. They can't make up their minds, fight all the time over small things, and end up breaking up and hooking up again like no one's business... Somehow or another, they can't seem to want or leave each other for long periods. It's easy to be annoyed at a repetitive comic, that much is understandable, but --- personally, I think lots of people can't make up their minds and repeatedly change their decisions all the time. Realistic people are often just like these two... A wholesome relationship is far harder to truly come across, because you never really know what goes on behind doors.

I wasn't expecting much but it was surprisingly a decent, short read? It's not too dramatic or twisted because it's more character-focused, and the plot had just one goal. I kind of like that the dialogue is self-aware, and that the individuals have defined personality and thoughts. The photos at the end were really sweet, and they look so happy.

Hmm...am I crazy or is the art a little different now?
Like, the base artist is still the same, but the colorist/line-artist is different...that kind of feeling.

Apparently there are 30 chapters total, and based on the previews, the black haired guy is her beloved.

That extra chapter... the art is immaculate.
*chef's kiss*...

Damn this is not going the route I hope it would... I just wanted fluff, with a delusional but cute (to me) MC

Just a public service memo, but the official English publication for volume 4 will release on March 19 2024 (Yen Press).

......Ah, is this someone's April Fools joke, maybe?
(Putting aside the "dude, bro, baby" add-ons, the rest of it is just MTL. The translation is not accurate to the original text).

Idk if it's just me but the names for the fan-translation look, sound and feel better than the official translation. Like, they seem more reminiscent of eastern ethnic names. Whereas the official kind of seem more like...french/western?

All the women are so goddang gorgeous... the 2nd villainess is smoking hot.

...The rating is quite low but it's honestly not that bad? The ML isn't abusive or has personality issues, she lives quite well and is quite capable, and the pacing is decent. They have good chemistry and retort too. She's not proactive but not a total doormat, and he knows that, which is why he's trying to help her live a more confident and fulfilling life because it's in her best interest. Chapter 16 really dumps a lot of background work for why he chose her as duchess and how he sees her.

While the ML likes teasing her, he probably won't do anything to her since it's a really tame Japanese shoujo publisher. They have an age gap, but that's quite normal for a historical (especially since it's not an isekai). For that era, she's the prime age for marriage, not only because mortality rates were much higher back in the days but men of the upper class married late because they had to focus on their careers (versus commoners who work and marry closer in age).

Tbh..... I'm less bothered by Wooyeon (who was clinically confirmed to be a psychopath since the beginning---and isn't gonna change), and more annoyed by how spineless In-Seob is...especially with the double standards. You're an adult now! You were nuts enough to follow some guy across the globe to get "revenge" on him, why are you so wishy-washy in all other aspects ( ̄∇ ̄")...???
Like, IDK how to feel about a character that's persistent and persevering but only to be a doormat. At least Wooyeon is just consistently an asshat.

Yeah, the swordsman is a pushy irredeemable opinionated creep, yeah the high priest is an incestuous selfish psycho, but... I still think about how the prince verbally-emotionally abused the original Eris all those years to her very death and then had the galls to be upset about it. I really felt so bad for her. Not once, did he try to understand her.

I also feel like the eventual "punishment" he gets is far less than the other two's. (---with the only saving grace being that that Helena still cares a lot for the original Eris.)

(...might've cried a lot)

I finished the novel from start to finish (I started in English but the translation was so awkward... as if someone just edited from MTL, so I just decided to read it natively in Japanese). I like that the manga actually adds on and creates new scenes to fill in the gaps of the novel. Of course, the novel is interesting because you get all the nitty gritty details of both Sibling's inner thoughts, but the manga helps to expand and visualize their world and give other characters perspectives too. There are so many new scenes in the manga that even as a novel reader, I get to look forward to what happens next, even if I know the ending.
