I'm kinda disappointed that we're not getting the scene where Claude threatens to kill 1000 people every day and draws a magic circle that would give him injuries if Athy tried to escape. That scene showcases how desperate he was to keep Athy by his side. Even without memories in the novel after this scene he keeps athy by his side.
