Mostly anyways since there was a triangle in the beginning of one, 2 others has less plot but hasn't gotten there yet since it's just progressing. ML was joking around when he said I love you to Aoi. They were basically saying they love each other as friends. When he said MC was average he was saying he's normal. Later on when confronted by MC he says while he's not cute to others he himself finds him cute. He actually quite likes MC. Basically yep that sums it up.
