Yes, the mom will tell him off screen. When the TF project ends, the group has a party at the restaurant, the top is kind of drunk and come to the bot's house with him. It's late at night and they find out that the mom and sister waiting at this door. It's a pretty scene. The top calms down and offer his hand to call a cab for the bot's mom so the bot can talk with his sister. That's when his mom spill the beans.

I used an app to translate but it didn't feel completely right but it's the jist of it. Can't wait for official translation though. The sailboat and umbrella things were weird too.
