This has got to be the worst manhwa that I've ever read. Even the most simple and clichéd plot lines are poorly executed. Plus it's so confusing. Characters will just act erratically and without reason change their behavior - wth was the scene where he dumped a vase on the mc???? I'm convinced you need a doctorate in literature to decode what's happening in this monstrosity...

Can someone recommend similar stories like this to me? Like there's a sweet and wholesome vibe without a lot of drama

We do have some more fluffy mangas if you'd be interested! (not noraneko to yubikiri though that's full of drama ( ̄へ ̄)

Hello to the new translator. You probably meant no harm and thought you were doing a nice thing (thanks for the thought!) but this series is already being worked on by a group (who does a really, really good job). They put in a lot of effort for not just their translations but cleaning and typesetting as well. Their work is really enjoyable to read; I don't want to be mean but to put it blatantly - this was not enjoyable, it was confusing and frustrating. If the whole series had been translated like this, I would have dropped it immediately. As a translator myself, it is really important to have an adequate understanding of the language before you try and translate a story. This seems like you used an MTL. If your goal was to allow more people to read the story, thank you, but I'm sure almost everyone would prefer to read the original group's translation. The reason why I bother to say this and why it matters is because it's really discouraging to scan groups to see someone swipe their work. They may have already done a huge amount of work translating this chapter and you have just made their effort obsolete. This leads to groups dropping series. I'd much rather read a work translated by someone fluent in the language. Ultimately, I know you probably had good intentions, but swiping a work only has negative effects. And if the OG group sees this, I appreciate you guys, and I hope this doesn't discourage you too much!
This comment is confusing two things. It’s one thing to ask someone to not pick up another group’s story (valid, fair) and another to complain about the quality of someone’s FREE TRANSLATION (rude, unnecessary). I think the translation was fine and I understood it perfectly. The issue with picking up another group’s work is totally separate and you should be less rude about the actual translation work. That’s such a jerk thing to say.
No matter what you said, this translation still suck, as a translaotr myself, he did worse on both quality and to pick up other's works, don't go around encourage those.
Don’t go around speaking bad about others when you know nothing
I know it's harsh but anytime you put out work, you have to face the fact that it can be criticised. I didn't attack their character, I criticised their translation which is a fair thing to say. In this case especially, I think the quality of the translation matters. This person has used the clout and effort of this translating team before them to gain reach with their translation. If this person had chosen to translate a completely untouched work, I would not critique their translation at all (I would encourage them!) - but in this case the quality of the translation is actually really important because the people who have been following the story so far will not be able to continue understanding the story with this type of translation and this person probably wouldn't have gained an audience with this type of quality. It's kind of a slap in the face to the original translators to steal their project and then alienate the audience they put in so much effort to build. Additionally, this person is almost certainly using a MTL. You may not know, but that means I am not critiquing this person's skill, but the typical poor translation of an MTL. And finally, I mentioned this above, but I translate works as well. And most importantly, as a translator, you need to be respectful of the author's intent. Just because you may be able to decipher what someone is trying to translate doesn't mean it's what the author wanted the story to say. This is most certainly not the story the author wanted to tell.
Myself and this commenter are both translators haha, I think we may know more on this topic than you do. And we're not critiquing them as a person, we're critiquing their work. That is a huge difference and you're conflating the two.
Well fui that I’m not saying anything about being translators but the other person should be nice with their words and not be a bitch about it also I get it but don’t go around criticizing people just cuz they “stole” someone else’s work
Okay, I was applying ethos in response to your comment about "knowing nothing". If we're being honest here, this person was harsh, but truthful. We're saying from our experience, this is a very poor translation. Criticism of work is hard to hear, but it's not uncalled for. You are not a "bitch" because you don't think someone creates good work. Anytime you post a work for public consumption, it is eligible for criticism - even if it may hurt your feelings!! As long as people aren't bashing their character or being unnecessarily rude. The purpose of this criticism is to point out that they are worsening the experience of the story. That comment didn't even say anything rude, all they said is that the translation is of lower quality than the group they swiped it from.
