If im not wrong, husband mean the house head so wife is someone who the husband will need to support in lifes (well both will support each other ofcose) like in money and stuff
For some bl manga (There's no way this is fate) it's for the wife to have the husband surname(๑•ㅂ•)و✧ n in some manga the uke will feel somehow proud (?) bcause he's considered as someone who'll support he's family rather than the type who'll just be spoiled by his husband (maybe)
N if you read the manga, clearly the author/translator doesn't really mean it like he's a female cause they only mentioned it once or twice (while introducing) so don't take it to deep(?), as long as the partners is ok with it, then we should just let it be ╮(￣▽￣)╭
