Like, no matter what the author try to convince us and make the prince nice I still cant forgive him. Acting all innocent because he know nth and he been through nothing. He never killed her dad. He only told her that so she could have escaped. He didn't expect her to stab him. He didn't want to kill her even after she stabbed him he wanted to banish her but he was overruled hence her getting killed.
