The Empress is a piece of shit mother. So is the father, but personally I can be more lenient on him compared to the empress who’s a fucking rapist and fucked his father’s mental state. Didn’t the empress beat MC? Forgiveness for neglect from both? No. But it’s up to MC if he forgives or not, personally I wouldn’t forgive or maybe I would with the emperor, but not forget.
Neglect is not it. I’ve gone through it myself, although my mother and I are much closer as I aged, she still struggles mentally. My mother was raped by father, and had me. She took it out on me, didn’t just neglect but beat me many times, compared me with other children. I never told anyone, not even my therapist. She does not hit me anymore though, so that’s nice. And she’s repented, a lot of shit happened, and just messy.
Do I forgive her? No. Why would I? I’m still hurt when I remember, but I remained to stay with her as she’s aging.
Just switch genders of the Emperor to Empress who was raped by the emperor. Obviously emperor is a coward when it comes to his son, but there’s clearly a defined reason: it’s his rapist’s child too.
It’s easy to tell him to not be a coward, but why expect that from a victim who’s not good around their rapist?
I see some telling him to stand up. Are you guys crazy?
Just because he’s the emperor, a man, doesn’t mean he’s in full authority, there’s societal orders and parliament stuff, and the empress clearly has some influence too.
Telling a VICTIM to stand up to their perpetrator is crazy talk, I sense little to NO sympathy. I even read someone saying: Emperor MIGHT have been hurt by the empress, but…bah blah.

But of course, Emperor is still a shitty father. I just feel some sympathy for him. My thought is:
—This dude could’ve been a great father had he not been raped, had his hate not been born from rape.
I really hope he finds out about MC being a dominant omega, I need him to collapse and be on his deathbed for 5 seconds or faint at the very least. And he deserves to be beat for neglecting, I won’t condone any of his hateful actions.
MC doesn’t deserve neglectful parents. He doesn’t deserve to be hated for being born from a rapist mother, and victim father. Children are innocent, and should not have to deal with these types of parents.

If I recall right, the MC kinda forgave the emperor I think in the novel, but they aren’t super close yet like father and son—it’s very slow even at the end and doesn’t really say more.
