So imma just say: rape stuff in the context of yaoi really doesn't bother me. I see it as a fetish that is often explored in yaoi in a way that's too taboo for other genres and for mainstream media. When used well, I sometimes think it's pretty hot (controversial opinion i know). Buuuuuuut this is preeeetty overboard, even for me. I don't like either uke or seme. One's a raging homophobe and the other is a certified psychopath. There's no attraction, romance, love, nothing. It's literally just one dude raping another, which makes it very difficult to read and impossible to enjoy. Unfortunately, as nice as the drawings are, this one is a definite pass. ┗( T﹏T )┛

Honestly, that kind of thing would be attractive IF the characters undergo change and there is real love involved. So far in the story there really hasn't been anything going on, no romance no love it's exactly as Mufuji said it's literally just a man raping and blackmailing another man. But I think that even if these two were to change, the depth of what the seme has done will still be a big problem for most people so 乁( •_• )ㄏ

It depends on how much help the seme is going to need. He's young. He's probably in big trouble. If he can be helped, then I wish such a couple well. There's help available, but most people usually think they can work it out themselves.
The number one mission of human beings is to forgive each other.
I see a lot going on between them. This author is especially good at subtle facial expressions, but I think most people read fast and if they see the slightest hint of something their beliefs tell them is bad, they quickly pass judgement, preach against the story, and move on, or, in this case, they bitch relentlessly and come back for every new chapter.

I don't think rape in any media is normalized, it's definitely considered as taboo, that's why a lot of people are so bothered by it when they see it used in stories . If u look at the comment section under this story and other manga's that use rape, u can see that many people are very uncomfortable with it, and stories that have rape often use trigger warnings because they know many people will be upset with such violent content. I get that the "straight homophobe x gay psychopath" thing can be attractive, it definitely plays on power reversals and the forbidden attraction trope, but I agree with Jack that the author has taken it to the extreme in this story, making character growth/love and consequently their redemption hard for the reader to accept, if the author chooses to go down that route. This story is definitely geared towards a niche group of people who are into hardcore/snuff yaoi.

sorry, that comment was meant for Jack.
-I think "trigger warnings" (stupid label) is another way of spoiling, and I don't want them. Still, this manhwa has warnings at the beginnings of the chapters so if you complain now, you don't really have a valid point.
-Snuff? that's disgusting. I want to tell you to go to hell so badly for bringing that vile shit into the discussion.
-As a moral people we should lean more toward helping than condemning.
-This story is geared toward grabbing you by the throat and dragging you through it whether you want to go or not. LOL The author has you right where she wants you since you keep coming back.

everyone is saying they vibe with jeanie's attitude but like if Miss Rona has taught me anything, doing absolutely nothing for long periods of time is hell on earth. Staring down nothingness and an excess of free time is mind numbing- having responsibilities u may not be super excited for or chores/tasks that require hard work make your free time just *chef's kiss*, u know? also how can someone be that disinterested in magic especially when it's that much easier for her since shes gifted- i get she hated studying before because it was high school BS but its literally MAGIC now??? Harry potter would never. plus shes a noble so she has an abundance of money anyways so why obsess over it when youll have it your whole life/had it your whole life.

Precisely because she's nobility, she needs to earn money, so as to to gain stability and become independent.
Have you ever seen how competitive some Asian countries are? Most American/European countries are nothing compared to it. And exactly because she has talent, she doesn't need to study increadibly hard to achieve what she wants. Magic seems cool and all, but this isn't Harry potter. There's more to a flick in a wand and some simple incantations to achieve spells. You need to memorize transmutation circles, symbols in a million languages you probably don't understand, etc etc. And that's just what we seen her do so far. Who knows what u need to learn for other types of magic.
It seems cool, but there's a lot of learning behind that

I gave this manga 2/5 stars because it's so painfully cliche and cheesy. It uses the typical trope of "Im NOt LIkE OTher gIRLz" in the most stereotypical way possible- she hates girly dresses, doesn't like attending balls, doesn't like attending social events, is devoted to her family and isn't ever interested in doing anything for herself ever - she only ever acts in the interests of her family. This is fine i guess but IMO it creates the most boring and predictable type of character that most of us have seen 1000000 times in B-rate teen movies. There is nothing unique about this story and there's very little substance, but that is also very characteristic of shoujo manga's unfortunately, so it's not surprising. i just found this one pretty lackluster and cringe- i'm sure people will disagree with me looking at the rating for this manga, but oh well just wanted to share my perspective ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

So idk if this is actually spoiler or not because I read previous spoiler comments ages ago but like the FL is going to end up with the knight and the the one that the prince is looking for and the one he met when he was young was not the FL but the scholar chick she met in the library apparently. Again I’m not sure so don’t take my word for it 100% but yeah this is what I remember. So I guess it’s not really typical shoujo as the FL doesn’t end up with the prince ? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I read all the chapters available so it really wasn't judging a book by it's cover. I think it is less common for the FL to end up with the second ML but in the end the FL still ends up with a guy which makes it a shoujo through and through, either way I still hold the same opinion of this manga. Of course each character is going to have their own little differences but overall this FL and story line is very predictable in my opinion, and the feel of it is not the type of story I personally enjoy.

It seems to me your issue is more with the Shoujo genre than anything. Since story lines like this are common in that genre maybe you should just stop reading them and putting them down. You idea of what was going to happen isn't the case so the reasons for you negative review isn't all that strong. Plus it takes more than a couple of chapters to determine every book/novel/Manga (and so forth), so it's not like you had any intention of giving this manga a fair chance. So what if her family is more important to her than money or power, and the point of it being a Shoujo manga is that she ends up in a happy ending with the guy she loves. That's what the whole genre is about. The stories are supposed to be predictable when it comes to the plot and basis of the character, but it's how the characters are cheated that make each story different. Beyond that you stated how the story was going to be and how the FL was going to be with the ML, and all this other stuff to make the story seem one dimensional, however the story has more to than that, and it isn't just following some predictable pattern. It has changes in it and if the spoilers hadn't given away the couple's pairings it would not be obvious how the story is going to end just by what chapters are out now. So I'm left with the impression that you really are judging a book by its cover, and simply assuming that all Shoujo are the same. And, while I agree this type of plot is common, I will say again you never know unless you actually read more that a few chapters. If it's the genre that you have the issue with stop reading the genre, but don't ruin it for other people.

Lol looks like I hit a nerve. Shoujo is simply manga aimed at a young female audience, it doesn’t necessarily have to have anything to do with romance, although this often ends up being the case. It’s very narrow minded of you to argue that I should just stop reading the genre just because I don’t like certain popular stories or aspects of the genre, I can still enjoy something and critique it at the same time. And I’m sorry but seven chapters is more than a fair chance for a manga, you shouldn’t have to force yourself through numerous chapters of a manga in hopes that it gets better. A good story should do that naturally from the first one or two chapters. Anyways, I’ve explicitly stated multiple times that everything I’ve written is my *own personal opinion*- for anyone other than very sensitive people like you, I seriously doubt my review has or will “ruin it for other people” lmao.

i think the art is really pretty buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut im not keen on the whole meek, soft-natured, fumbling FMC- i appreciate she's been through some trauma but i personally prefer more brazen and strong female characters that don't have the backbone of a jellyfish

u urself can't handle a situation like that in real life even if u r a very strong woman, even fire shouting and people dying from it will be hard on us, let alone slaughtering people using knives and sword while we watch, i regard her as a very strong female lead, she is working without complaining and preparing a book and smiling and pulliing her self together even in front of a man like him; she even drank water from the horses water. she is doing her best, yet u r considering her as a weak FL, just bcz she is not the villain, not the daughter of some archiduke that can be strong easly if we consider her status. she is strong in her own way despite becoming a slave, but she is cute and it is a trait of her , being cute doesn't mean being weak, people r just wanting all the FL looks alike ( it term of traits) in every webtoon and it is actually boring and wrong

hi there! you might have misinterpreted what i said. i don't think strength comes from status or nobility, or acting mean like a villain to get revenge. that is not what i said in my comment either. I personally like female leads that are more brazen, outgoing and daring, that aren't quiet like Chloe and don't quiver and tremble all the time like a 'chipmunk'. That doesn't mean I think Chloe is weak, I just think she's too timid for my taste. It's just personal opinion, and i don't think there is any "wrong" FL's, even Chloe can be considered a very common type of FL we see in shoujo's quite often but that doesn't mean I consider her type of character wrong- just not my taste. Different strokes for different folks ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

OP main characters are fun to read but they run the risk of being repetitive and boring, and I feel like thats whats happening to this story. Seeing a nobody pushover with a crap life suddenly become strong and special is satisfying but this guy has the personality of a cardboard box. the slimes are super cute and unique but i feel like they are making him too perfect and invincible, if that makes sense. In my opinion, even if the plot is 'MC becomes OP', if the main character doesnt struggle at least a little here and there, or isnt capable enough for certain fights yet (at least at that point in time) the story becomes boring and too indulgent. idk maybe its just me but wanting to become stronger and working your way up the ladder is very satisfying too, and gives the story depth and i become more attached to the MC because i want to watch him/her become strong enough to achieve their goals. this MC is so monotonous and blase about literally everyhthing n his skills are just a littttttle too convenient, i just lost interest real fast.

Yeah, I like his nonchalant attitude and clear analysis of his quests. It's nice that he's liked by both genders so no harem. There's just no big plot or situation that is keeping me reading. Like, he's advancing but what for? Why did he need to find out about the assassination guild? What does he have to gain by helping these people, other than its the right thing?
This was...... awful....??? I had no idea what the hell was going on in the first 11-12 chapters, it felt like I had missed huge chunks of information or possibly entire chapters. The plot line jumps around so much making it so difficult to keep up or understand wtf was happening, and character development is ALL over the place or just totally inconsistent. The way things developed so so quickly at some points or way too slowly at others made no sense, and certain concepts or names were referenced that had not been addressed at all in the story before or explained later on, further confusing me even more. The art is the only saving grace- it’s really clean and well done. The plot, as far as I understood it, has potential- but it was not done ANY justice in this manhwa. I am so incredibly DISAPPOINTED in this. 9.6 stars is wildly over optimistic of the experience this story gives you, I have no idea why it was rated so highly- it seriously makes me think that I read a different story from everyone else that rated this??? Like wtf???
You might be feeling like that due to the removal of HUGE chunks of details appearing in the novel which weren't included there. I fear it might not do justice to this work if this continue as it is. Currently the novel's almost fully translated on Wuxiaworld if you wanna give it a try, but yeah a lot of webtoons being made out of novels usually do a bad work of properly adapting them, which is disappointing to say the least. #-.-)
Hey what about solo leveling, omniscient reader view point,The untamed, tom raider king, kill the hero, the live, return to player, the tutorial tower of the advance player and alots lots mores ( •д•) u should put (some)not alot cuz some other manga from novel r actually rlly rlly good
Yes I think this might be the case as I’ve read in other comments here massive chunks of the original story have been omitted, I think I will try the novel because the story has so much potential.
I put "a lot" cause I'm taking korean webtoons and chinese webtoons in account, and believe me, I've seen my fair share of bad and good adaptations.
R u dumb or something?
Not dumb enough to enjoy this manga unfortunately :(
Well, atleast smart enough to understand how things come and go in this manga
