Prolly gunna get downvoted into the abyss for this but this story is a little all over the place. Don’t get me wrong the art is just *chefs kiss* and Amon is just WOW gorgeousssss. But. the storyline hasn’t hooked me at all. We are like 20+ chapters in and I don’t feel attached to the characters and honestly nothing particularly interesting has happened in regards to her life at the palace or story development/world building. I really wanna like this manga but when I finished the most recent chapter my feelings were like ‘meh’, which is kinda wild for a 9.7 manga with a decent number of chapters available. Perhaps it’s just personal preference but this was a tinkle bit of a let down. Pls don’t hate me everyone
I kind of agree with you.
I think it flowed really well when they were younger, but now that they are older it’s a little disjointed. Like there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed and it kind of sporadic and all over the place. Like they are tackling each plot point for such a short period of time that it doesn’t super stick with you.
I also think that having translation inconsistencies is also adding to that issue. Not to say that I don’t super appreciate the translators and uploaders hard work, but it is a small factor when it comes to story flow.
One thing that super bothers me is that Blondie thinks Amon likes Lucy. Like................................. I know the trope is that the girl doesn’t realize how much the guy is in love with her, but she came to that conclusion in such a silly way?
He’s nice to her so he likes her? Even though I’m clearly the favored one? Idk. Like I get it, especially since she is not use to people loving her, but I rather her stay clueless than her being clueless AND thinking he’s into someone else, ya know?
yeah i agree with you and the age development was so weird because we just see them become older each chapter so it doesn’t have a good indication of them time frame and i just feel like there are bits and pieces missing from some chapters

Possibly unpopular opinion but I’m glad he wasn’t preggo and doesn’t want to be for a while. They only just started dating and i would like to see them enjoy being with just eachother for a while before they move into being parents. They’re still so young and it would seem rushed and an unnaturally fast progression of their storyline if the author just so suddenly introduced a child into the mix. their chemistry is great and I like seeing them navigate being a new couple, plus this is both their first serious relationship so there’s lots of fun firsts to explore without needing to board the baby train just as soon as they’ve established feelings for one another.

Okay guys listen, I think this is a great story and I think the dynamic between Maxi and MC has a ton of potential. But. We are 20+ chapters in and I’ve seen almost 0% character growth in Maxi. she’s still the same quivering insecure terrified girl we met in Ch1 and it’s honestly frustrating at this point. I know she has gone through years of abuse, and I definitely don’t expect (or want) her to do a 360 in her personality overnight. However, we need *some* kind of healing and growth in her to happen so that other aspects of this story- e.g her relationship with hottie husband- can progress and mature. Even just disclosing the abuse she endured, so she can begin to realize that she was treated unjustly, hasn’t happened. She still believes she deserved it all and that she’s shit and ugly and worthless etc etc etc and it’s just not fun seeing her crap on herself over and over again without ever learning that she deserves better. With the story showing us how terribly she was treated, we obviously are rooting for her and want to see some kind of redemption, but instead we haven’t really seen much response from her character despite all the changes around her encouraging her to step up. I’m going to keep following the story, but at the pace we’ve seen so far I think this is going to be a sloooooooooow progression, if there’s any progress to even be made at all.
While the character progression is definitely slow and realistic, I disagree that there's been zero growth. The insecure, terrified girl from chapter 1 would never have made it past the castle walls in the recent chapters, let alone continue to speak up to defend her home after she was insulted in front of a large crowd. I think it's not fair to Maxi to disregard the progress she's made so far because it doesn't match the pace of what we want from her. She's trying her best, she WANTS to change and she's definitely made progress. Her insecurities are incredibly deep rooted, and it's so easy to lapse back into a bad headspace even with the progress she's made. But she's growing bit by bit, trying to learn new things and take new responsibilities and trying to push past her self doubt in order to defend her home. The pace may be slow, but it's very realistic given it's been a few months in this new environment where she's trying to overcome a lifetime of trauma.

Oh gosh guys where to even begin? This manhwa is a piece of art, and that is no exaggeration. As I’m sure most of us know, it is so easy to go wrong in fantasy shounen’s, and even easier to pump out a half-assed unoriginal manga/manhwa by relying too heavily on the wildly popular “transported-to-another-world” trope. This story avoids ending up as another mediocre copy-pasta of other popular similarly-styled manhwa’s by giving us REAL character growth, real struggle, and a beautiful world to watch this epic adventure unravel in! There’s actual substance to this story, and you really feel the MC’s pain, and his struggle with his mental health and well-being makes him so relatable and so real. Readers empathize with him, and are drawn in as we hope for him to get better and overcome his challenges one by one. And wow don’t even GET ME STARTED on the art! Take a peak at the other comments on here and you’ll know that this is some of the absolute *best* art on this platform. Just, wow. The fact that this manhwa is so underrated is honestly a crime in and of itself! Definitely give it a go, you won’t regret it! ヾ(☆▽☆)
Well said. I consider myself to be way more critical than the average reader, and even still, my only real criticism of this is that the plot is a bit rushed (and even that is mainly because of the serialized format of manga/manhwa, in order to prevent the 10-15 year drawn out stories). This is one of the very best written and animated stories you will find.
idk if I’ve been reading Yaoi for too long or what but I genuinely do not understand the outraged comments about the sex scene? Honestly, it wasn’t particularly crazy or offensive at all. Considering the way this story has developed, and keeping in mind the history of the sexual relationship between the two MC’s it’s very on brand for this manga. Maybe I’m just used to reading violent/forceful sex in yaoi, and accept it as part of this genre of fictional literature, but I would not have looked twice at the scene if I didn’t know that there were all these comments so mad about it.
The translations are a little rough through out the existing chapters, there are certain parts/scenes/convos which don’t make much sense at all at times. The storyline can seem a little jumpy or confusing because of this, and it’s hard to get super invested into the story as a result. But the basis of the story is very appealing and the art is nice and clean for the most part. I am still able to enjoy myself by looking at the art more than the words.

I'm a picky reader when it comes to authors using the generic reincarnation trope, but I think this story does a fantastic job of taking a popular concept and finding a way to hold the audience's attention. The story follows a reincarnated OP MC, however thankfully his powers aren't reclaimed/developed too quickly or too easily so the pace of the story is *chef's kiss*, and we have time to actually get to know Frey (the MC) as more than just a super powerful dude, but also as a human who is struggling to fight something bigger than him (a storyline I think we all love to read!!). I think that's why many readers compare this to Solo Levelling, because that manhwa takes a similar approach in developing their reincarnated MC. Now, I see a lot of people complaining about Isabelle- however guys- believe me when i say she IS NOT THAT BAD! Yes in the first few chapters when she's introduced she's an annoying cockblock, but she grows very quickly and it's established very clearly early on that she is NOT A LOVE INTEREST, rather seeing the MC as a teacher she respects and wants to emulate. Unlike many other supporting female characters in fantasy stories, she's actually capable of holding her own in a fight and is ambitious and keen to become powerful like the MC, which is so refreshing. I think she has a lot of potential and I think she's being wrongfully villainized in the comments- trust me I HATE harem and romance + weak females in these stories, but it's really not like that here- the only "romance" element is that girls wanna fck Frey after seeing how powerful he is, but he's oblivious to it and it never develops pass more than being comedic relief (at least so far). OVERALL GIVE THIS A GO U WILL ENJOY IT! ヾ(☆▽☆)

Idk about y’all but I find it so funny seeing comments that are upset about aggressive/violent sex in yaoi because like if there’s any form of fiction that indulges rape fantasy more, it’s yaoi. Idk if I’ve been in this community for too long but the vast majority of yaoi manga/manhwa I’ve see on this platform has almost always involved some form of aggro sex/rape/pushy sex/unspoken consent sex etc. this is a very popular sexual fantasy indulged in yaoi, and has been since the beginning days of this fandom. I guess as yaoi reaches a wider more PC/mainstream audience, it’s only natural more people will not understand or like this aspect of yaoi stories, but I hope it doesn’t influence authors or illustrators to vanilla-fy their work in the future. It’s a complicated grey zone when it comes to enjoying seeing fictional depictions of violent sex and/or rape because of how abhorrent rape is in real life, but to try to explain why it’s attractive in fiction and fantasy is really hard and understandably controversial. I know (and agree) rape or pushy sex isn’t ok in real life. And I am certainly not saying that it’s existence in yaoi means it’s existence in real life is okay. Yaoi with violent sex is not propaganda championing rape in real life. that’s the issue- People trying to relate the fantasy to reality and that’s not the intent with these stories. Nobody who enjoys the rape/violent sex fantasy wants it to exist in normal real society, same how people who like being choked during sex don’t want to be choked outside the fantasy in everyday life. Like I said it’s hard to explain, but yaoi is a place where this fantasy can exist safely, and people who enjoy it can watch it play out without guilt or concern since it’s 2D characters in a fictional setting. You may be surprised to hear this but rape fantasy and violent sex is actually a popular kink for many people, both online in fantasy and offline in people’s sex life. You can read up on what this type of sexual play actually entails (factors of dominance/power/control/vulnerability etc), there are lots of resources out there which explain it well. It may be something you do not enjoy and that ofc is fine, but I’m not ashamed to say it is something I do personally like myself.
