It's a cube(?) shaped food. It's jiggly and soft. I don't really know much about its origin but it kinda tastes like egg without salt (not really sure, people say my taste buds are not working lol). Anyway, it can be cooked in many ways, fried, mix in a soup, or as toppings. It really tastes good if paired with a great condiment. That's pretty much all I know about it.
So I'm just curious where you're from, having not seen tofu before. Anyway, think of tofu as something like cheese, but it's made of soymilk rather than animal milk. You cook soymilk with a coagulant and it forms curds which are pressed together, just like cheese. You can have difference textures/denseness based on much much liquid is pressed out. It doesn't have too much flavor on it's own, but it absorbs other flavors and sauces really well. It's a little bit like paneer.
