I utterly adore this manhwa and the characters. Of course I don't condone some of the characters' actions but they have real personalities, not just some generic badly made personalities from stereotypes. There's a lot of controversy with Joowon's character and with the love between Haesoo, Joowon, and Taekyung. I think chapter 39 was extremely needed as it gives us, the readers, a clear understanding of who Joowon is and what his views are. Many people hate on his personality and actions, (I do not favor him, nor do I favor Taekyung... Haesoo is my #1), but try to acknowledge that for a relationship to work it must be mutual. Haesoo is not helping Joowon and his relationship move forward either. When they first met, Joowon was still a bit of an asshole but Haesoo helped establish Joowon's mindset towards their relationship. Haesoo liked his attention so he did rebellious acts and it was just a fun game for Joowon. It always mentions that Haesoo's past relationships never lasted long and that he always came back to Joowon. This has been happening for years, it's become habitual. As I said, Haesoo is my favorite but he still did in fact do these things. Joowon alone is not the "bad guy." I personally feel as if there is no bad guy or villain. Some unpleasant things were done or said by characters, but that doesn't, nor shouldn't make them the obvious villain. Joowon still needs to catch on that his attitude and treatment towards Haesoo needs to change. It's not a cheesy redemption act, I think it will be something genuine even if Joowon has a hard time accepting it. I gravitate more towards Haesoo and Taekyung's relationship as I think they are developing it more naturally and honestly. Joowon and Haesoo's relationship as a whole just isnt good. They lack honesty. Haesoo cried and talked to Taekyung and in return, Taekyung comforted him. Haesoo is allowing himself to be photographed because he is comfortable now with Taekyung. Their relationship is also a bit confusing. Some comments said that Taekyung is so good and he has done no wrong, not saying he has done anything "wrong," but I think this relationship would also be convenient for him. He said that he liked consensual dalliances, and he told Haesoo to use him. Basically Im saying that he probably figured that him and Haesoo's relationship would just be a quick fling at first, and that it's convenient for the BOTH of them. Haesoo has also many flaws within his character. For one thing, he cannot be honest with Joowon. He is aware that he is "broken" and caught up in a fucked up relationship. Along with that him and his mother's relationship has gone sour, Joowon and him are still having sex even though Joowon's father is still in love with Haesoo's mother and it's weighing on Haesoo's conscious. I have high hopes for this manhwa and this author. I read fools and I just hope it wont turn out to be a shitty plot that I wasted my time on. I just wrote an essay.. ok)
