First of all, we wouldn't know if Mildred congratulated/praised or gave special attention ONLY to Ashley because mostly what was showed were the times Iris getting upset (or Iris' point of view). It may look like favoritism but Mildred's actions weren't wrong and Iris getting upset was not wrong too. It just shows that they needed communication and a deeper understanding of each others' situations. Just because she fussed over one person doesn't mean it's favoritism, which is why she told Iris why she was being nice to Ashley.
For me, Iris was not jealous at Mildred's attention to Ashley, SHE TOLD MILDRED THE REASON WHY SHE WAS UPSET and that was because for Iris, Ashley was part of the reason they became poor and was angry at Mildred for the way she treats Ashley instead of condeming her.
Why are you people deciding what Iris should think though? hahahaha Iris is already mature enough to be jealous of Mildred's affection. AND if Mildred was really playing favorites, the other sister would be jealous too considering she is younger than Iris.

I really liked the story, a lot actually. I had fun binge reading this manga or manhua (idk sorry). The plot was reaaaallly good. Its nice and all that they all ended up happy BUT I find it lacking in relation to lindsay, the duke and his majesty's back stories.
I was reading the comments and I agree with what they said that it looks a bit rushed, kinda like Demon Slayer. The MC's backstory wasn't properly explained though there were hints of it that was said by the villain. I was curious about the duke's backstory as well like what happened during the 12 years he was gone. Though for me, showing it isn't necessary for the plot, It would have made it more interesting ang satisfying to know the truths behind the characters.
Nevertheless, I salute the people behind this manga. And thanks to the translators as well. I wouldn't have been able to read this story if it weren't for you people. Keep up the good work!!!
