The hate seems to be 2 things:

Since then, they saw most of their sexual encounter as rape when it's a contract that Dan did reject after the first night. He only came back due to his circumstances. Not many people have Dan's circumstances, so they see it as "weak" and "must protect at all cost!" While with Jae its "DEMON!" and "Horse!"
As for trend, I've heard that I lot of it comes from TikTok. Most of the readers on TT read on MangaGo, which leads to a flood of hate here, but minimal on other sites (like B@TO).

There's a saying that men knows who they want to be with before the person they're with even knows. I've seen many Manwha/Manga/Manhua demonstrate this. Though Dan is a guy as well, he has too much on his mind to even think of romance.
Going back to I believe epsiode 55, when we get Jaekyung's POV, we learned that his interest in Dan started at their very first encounter. That's why he offered the contract. He assumed he felt was puppy love or a crush, but the more he learned about Dan and his life, the more he wanted to get involved despite the contract saying not to cross that threshold. Of course, his ego gets the better of him and he does questionable things, but he still grows.
