This is unrelated to the main plot, but I went to the author/artist’s Twitter, and there’s Chuseok (Korean holiday) art. Raymon is shown as someone who enjoys teasing and seducing Winter, while Winter keeps his usual innocent and awkward demeanor.
Basically, the two of them are attending a festival, and Raymon says he’s bored, so he suggests to Winter that they go “pound some rice cakes.” Winter, thinking Raymon really means pounding rice cakes, innocently asks if Raymon wants him to pound harder. Lol.
Maybe that will be their dynamic if Winter not crazy
I don’t actually think their match eachother freak, at least not now. While it’s less exhausting to read when Raymon isn’t entirely the innocent victim since he’s got a bit of crazy in him, he’s still very much a victim, and the danger Winter brings goes beyond just violence, he could actually kill someone, including Raymon himself. Though this chapter feels like a build-up for the love-hate dynamic (as seen in the Korean version’s hashtags), I don’t think Raymon will give in and get mindbreak that easily, at least i hope so.
Also, Raymon is more of a sadomasochist and a dom/sub switch rather than purely masochist. The same goes for Winter, who enjoys serving but is also a terrifying sadist, like a beast.
Now it explains why, no matter how many partners ,he could never feel satisfied. He was searching for control, but all his partners were too submissive. The real reason Winter fascinated Raymon was because of Winter’s violent nature. In hindsight, it’s no surprise that Raymon wasn’t normal for continuing the FWB relationship with Winter despite being treated so brutally. While this doesn’t justify Winter’s actions, Winter genuinely believed he was acting the way Raymon liked, and he kinda right (not counting the SA and kidnapping).
Although Raymon is an M, he still has a strong sense of pride. It seems that he once have self-destructive behaviors until someone gave him advice, which explains his obsession with controlling his sex partners
. I hope he keep his pride and fight to take control tho, because I’m not interesting in mindbreak story, but i did glad that Raymon is a bit crazy himself
I’m quite surprised that many people were deceived by Winter. I understand that his appearance gives off a sense of comfort, puppy, and awkward top, which is also why Winter attracted me when I first saw the raw version in Korea, but even if we completely ignore the story summary, Winter’s violent and forceful behavior is quite obvious. I wonder if it’s because the trope of ‘the top being too emotional to control themselves with the bottom’ has become too normalized, so even though Winter is clearly a red flag who painfully bad at control himself and being violent toward Raymond during sex, readers still think this will be a ‘cute, golden retriever’ top?
Winter might seem gentle and obedient, but the truth is that all the times he had sex with Raymon were very violent and very forceful. Even though Raymon seems enchanted by Winter’s comfortable appearance but he still aware of Winter’s aggressive behavior towards him, he just doesn’t really against it. What I want to say is that Winter always behaves violently towards Raymon, it’s not a surprise, look at the actions rather than being deceived by the awkward and shy puppy appear. I appreciate how the author makes this clear that Winter is really danger and not sugercoat it with UwU shy Yandere boy, nope he is crazy
I thought Raymon would have at least some freedom to ‘tame’ Winter (as suggested by the cover and summary), but I didn’t expect him to be captured so quickly lol. Now, what will Raymon do to escape? It seems like Winter and Raymon have a past together that Raymon doesn’t remember.
To be honest, this is the first time I’ve seen a captivity situation with all limbs tied like this. In other stories, it’s usually just chaining the legs or something, but Winter is truly ruthless with Raymon. It’s truly scary
Looking back, everything Winter did was quite strange. Why did he sexual harassment Raymond when Raymond had already agreed to them having sex before? To make Raymond afraid and dependent on him? It’s quite confusing, but I have another thought. Winter may appear obedient and submissive, but in reality, he’s very much a sadist. It’s not hard to notice. He gets aroused by doing things Raymond doesn’t like. But because he wants to maintain Raymond’s trust, he ‘tries’ to control himself (he did a bad job with it btw)
And Raymond, though not blind to notice many red flags, like Winter behavior violent without control during sex but Winter gave him such a safe comfortable feeling, i mean look at that sleepy blushing puppy eye. Despite the arrogance in his heart preventing Raymond from admitting it, he had already fallen into Winter’s trap.
I didn’t think the fact that Winter is ML would be revealed this quickly, even though we all knew it. I thought he’d play with Raymond a bit longer with that innocent puppy face. He flipped from a innocent puppy to a cold-blooded monster in a split second. It’s chilling.
I can’t wait to see where this story is going. If I had to guess, I think Raymond will pretend to be gaslighted by Winter, believing everything was just a nightmare to keep himself safe.
I will wait to see more but damn isn’t new BL season have some interesting plot?
This manhwa might become my new obsession if it’s well-developed. Honestly, there are only 6 chapters so far, but I quite like how the author has led the story to this point. I really like the character Winter; there’s a mysterious aura around him that makes you want to dig deeper. Even though he acts obedient, his actions during sex with Raymond clearly show how dangerous he is. He deliberately breaks Raymond’s “rules” and, despite knowing Raymond is in pain and wants to stop, he forces him to continue. If Raymond were smart (which I doubt he is), he would quickly realize how dangerous Winter is. Oh, and I also just realized that Raymond doesn’t even know Winter’s name yet, lol.
The person summarizing the story ruined the exciting plot twist of the narrative, which is really unfortunate. I was thinking about how thrilled I could have been as Winter’s true identity slowly came to light, but no, you went ahead and told me he was Winter (that’s his real name???).
Anyway, the new chapter was pretty intense. Who is Raymond’s sexual harasser? It doesn’t seem like just some pervert. Now, thanks to the summary, I can’t help but be suspicious of Winter, whether he’s directly involved but acting innocent, or hiring someone else to do it.
Some Korean fans think that Hayden and Brett have many disagreements, which could lead to them breaking up multiple times after dating (and Hayden likely to be the one who break up first, Brett just go with it), and then both of them would meet and date someone else, only to realize that only the other can truly satisfy them… I don’t know if the author thinks the same way, but if possible, I would prefer for them not to break up (they’re not even dating yet, lol) and then have to in relationship with other people to realize they need each other. Without discussing whether it’s realistic or not, focusing on building the relationship between Hayden and Brett is still better than bringing a third party into the mix. But that’s just my personal opinion—no matter which direction the author takes, as long as it makes sense and everything has a purpose like in season 1, I’ll always support them.
Ugh, there are so many interesting details that the author shared in the review of season 1. Why does the TW version have this content translated, but the English version doesn’t? Anyway, I used a machine to translate some of the information.
According to the author, the story is built around the contrasting relationship between Hayden and Brett. Hayden comes from a middle-class family, is introverted, contemplative, and prefers stability and peace. He tends to dominate others, but this side of him only emerges when patiently explored. On the other hand, Brett is the opposite of Hayden. He comes from a wealthy family, is extroverted, and is impulsive, aggressive, and tends to enjoy being dominated, but only by those who are acknowledged or permitted.
Additionally, the author mentioned that fans often ask what Brett thinks, so the author showed Brett’s BDSM test results (the author also mentioned that the relationship between Hayden and Brett isn’t exactly considered BDSM play—Brett hates role-playing, so these results only reflect Brett’s tendencies).
Brett is a Prey, Brat, and Slave; besides, he is flexible between Dominant and Submissive depending on the situation. He somewhat enjoys being humiliated and experiencing pain, and also has a bit of a Pet tendency. Brett hates Vanilla, Little, and particularly dislikes spanking (possibly being hit in general) and being tied up.
As for Hayden, with his current state, the test results came out as Vanilla. The author commented that this
not be sincere but couldn’t deny Hayden’s current feelings, so the author let it slide. Perhaps in the future, when Hayden is more honest with himself, there will be another test.
A fun fact about Brett is that he not care about material and fashion (as evidenced by him wearing only a tight black shirt and jeans throughout season 1, lol).
A fun fact about Hayden, according to the author, is that his hair is gradually thinning and not as fluffy as in the short series, lol. If you pay attention, you’ll notice that in the short series, Hayden looks softer and more like a sheep compared to now.
In conclusion, the author shared that season 2 will be more plot-heavy than season 1. There will still be confrontations between Hayden and Brett, injuries, and non-con, and the author can’t reveal everything due to spoilers but warns that it could be very shocking. The atmosphere of the story is intended to be scary, tense, humorous, and seductive.
Don’t tell me EN version not gonna translate author ss1 ending review…
The truth is, Hayden getting shot was really bad, but luckily it hit his shoulder, so he’ll be fine; hopefully, there won’t be any lasting consequences that heavily affect him. Now let’s talk about Brett and his situation. Brett comes from a wealthy family; although he’s surrounded by people he doesn’t like, he has privileges, passions, and a partner he currently cares about deeply. Overall, Season 1 shows Brett as quite happy, despite some troublesome issues, but he’s completely fine, in contrast to Hayden, who is in the process of getting better thanks to his interactions with Brett.
And then the ending of Season 1 suddenly hits Brett hard. Why do I always feel sorry for Brett, especially after the Season 1 ending? Imagine throwing a party to celebrate winning your final rugby game on the school field, with someone you care about, and finally having a truly relaxing moment together, only for it to end in tragedy. Witnessing what could likely be an old friend getting shot in the head right next to you, almost getting shot yourself in your own house, and then the person you care about getting hurt while protecting you??? Brett is a strong and positive character, which is why I admire him, but it’s hard to imagine him being normal after all this. What’s worse, the author has emphasized quite a bit how Brett tends to downplay his own pain. He always laughs things off when others worry about him, so I’m afraid Brett will hide everything and push Hayden away even more…
Hayden is honestly hilarious. He spent most of his time pushing Brett away, but the moment he accepted that he was too into Brett and couldn’t deny it anymore, Hayden immediately asked for advice about the director’s MARRIAGE. Hayden is the type to quietly speed through things like a rocket—he hasn’t even dated him yet, and he’s already thinking about marriage?
Here’s a possible theory on why Rex shot Brett, but keep in mind that this is just personal speculation and could be wrong.
There are quite a few details that suggest Nathan might have feelings for Brett(?). In short, compared to others, Brett is someone Nathan respects. Before getting shot, Nathan avoided Brett’s gaze out of embarrassment. For an arrogant jerk who abuses his power to act awkward toward Brett, I have a theory that Nathan and Brett might have known each other since childhood, possibly because Nathan’s father and Brett’s father are friends. As Nathan grew older and became more unpleasant, Brett probably distanced himself from Nathan.
Now, how does Nathan’s possible crush on Brett relate to Rex? I theorize that Rex had to follow Nathan’s orders because his family demanded it, forcing him to befriend Nathan in hopes of gaining favor with Nathan’s father, the governor. But no matter how hard Rex tried, even if he resigned himself to doing negative things to please Nathan, he was still treated with disdain and mocked like a toy.
Meanwhile, Brett, born an Alpha, also comes from a wealthy family but doesn’t have to rely on anyone. Brett didn’t even have to try (and actively avoided Nathan), yet he still gained Nathan’s attention.
This could be the reason for Rex’s hatred toward Brett, and Brett giving advice and using his beta brother as an example might have been the last straw for Rex’s pent-up resentment.
In any case, in season 2, Brett is going to face quite a few problems and challenges.
I suddenly wonder, how does Brett really feel about his father? At the charity event, it seemed like Brett didn’t particularly like his father, but the way he mentioned his dad here suggests their relationship isn’t too bad? Brett’s father seems to care about him (maybe a bit controlling), and Brett only opposes his father in limited ways (Football and Hayden), but otherwise, he still follows his father’s wishes.
According to Shanta, Brett’s father doesn’t seem to be a very good person, at least not towards Brett’s mother, but the relationship with Brett seems to be more complicated. I’m really looking forward to the appearance of Brett’s father in Season 2
No more calm Brett, hello trauma Brett lol, just kidding.
To sum up the entirety of season 1, it focused on introducing the relationship between Brett and Hayden and some problems about class in omegaverse. Although Hayden has reached the point of being "willing to die" for Brett, the truth is that their relationship hasn't really developed yet. It's like Brett only started to open up at the very end of season 1, and it took Hayden forever to show any expression other than annoyance or coldness towards Brett. I think season 2 will truly be the starting point for a serious relationship between them, where they are forced to confront each other's true selves and their own.
Hayden was quite passive and let himself be led by Brett. Moving on to season 2, what will Hayden be like? Will he behave the same? It’s hard to guess how their gonna developed from now on tbh, everything just personal speculation but that why i love this story
“However, he encountered someone he didn’t want to get close to, and naturally, that person also detests being close to him.” It’s interesting that the person mentioned here is obvious Brett. The author notes that neither of them wants to be close, but in the series, Brett is always the one trying to get close to Hayden like he obsessed and care for Hayden a lot.
Is this a change in the scriptwriting process, or is it true that Brett doesn’t want to be close to Hayden?
The more I look at their profiles, the more intriguing things I find, And if author setting still the same then the word “Naturally- Also” and “Detest” is really something, how Brett truly feel about Hayden? It he just act like he like Hayden but he truly really not(?). It he also displeasure with Hayden sometimes but keep that for himself to keep the benefit between them? Interesting
