I’ve read quite a few BL stories with dark themes like rape, kidnapping, or Stockholm syndrome, and I’ve realized that the common reaction from many readers is, “Oh, the victim is a bit crazy too, so he and the perpetrator match each other freak” and the “Victim also make perpetrator cry and regret so their equal now” but yeah, no their not and i can said Raymon will never be crazy as Winter no matter how author developed his character in future, because he is Winter’s victim, their never be the same, idc author opinion on this, they may romanticize it or not, depending on various reasons. Since in fictional sometimes enjoyment more important that moral.
But still, just because the victim’s reaction isn’t to break down crying, go insane, or be terrified doesn’t mean they’re not a victim. Raymon may be hyper-sexual masochistic, but that doesn’t mean he wanted to be kidnapped or humiliated like how Winter treat him, not to mention Winter could literally kill him, that puppy cute boi is violent psychopath who also super delusional, normal logic not working on him. That why he scary af
Will their end up together and “match each other freaki” with crazy ass HE?
It’s hard to say, if the story follows real life moral standards, then no, but we’re talking about fiction here. Regardless of the author’s decision, I just hope they build the story with care, love, and respect for the character and the story, i have some down up and down feeling about how the story go now but everything can change my mind in future.
Whether this story has potential depends on the reader’s taste. For me, it still holds a lot interesting potential because I’m interested in Winter character and curious to see how Raymon will react the this horrible situation. I’ll continue following the developments to form my own opinion. I still like Winter as character tho, he fuck-up moments is so thrilling and a bit comedy to me tbh
