It’s strange because I think by reading just the first 5 chapters, readers can already guess how dangerous Winter is. As I mentioned, the portrayal of “being violent towards a partner due to excessive love and losing control” has been normalized so much that when reading it, one might not feel that something is wrong? But by chapter 7, everything is very clear, and I think those who don’t like it would stop reading by then.
The captivity plot isn’t new, and I didn’t expect Winter to lock him up so soon (I thought Winter would toy with him for longer), but the reason I kept reading was because I was still curious about Winter. The way the author draws Winter’s expressions, sometimes cute, sometimes scary, is so compelling that it makes me want to keep reading. As for Raymon, I also want to see how he will fight back.
The plot isn’t new, but to criticize it as lazy, unappealing, or romanticizing rape is not accurate. There hasn’t been a rape scene where Winter’s actions towards Raymon weren’t painful or terrifying. The author clearly depicts Winter as insane, without a single romantic moment suggesting that he will treat Raymon well, he’s entirely delusional violence Crazy men. Raymon is also absolutely terrified of Winter, even though Raymon himself is masochistic. That’s what makes it intriguing, and the summary mentioning that Raymon will manipulate Winter to regain control and escape gives me more confidence that this isn’t a mindbreak porn.
The story may not be perfect, but so far it’s been solid in building the characters’ psychology. I haven’t seen any signs of romanticizing the characters’ wrongdoings. For example, the scene where Winter threatens Raymon, saying “Don’t make me doubt the nature of this relationship,” shows that Winter is aware of how wrong this relationship is, but he chooses to deceive himself in order to be happy. I guess Raymon will take advantage of this delusion of love to manipulate Winter in return.

I read it for the brainrot porn and a bit of curiosity about the characters’ psychology, the conflict between desire and feelings but after seeing the fan reactions on every platform, I don’t even know what I was expecting? Woo Yeon originally loved Junghwi, not Woojin, and even Woojin himself still treats his hyung like a sex toy, forcing himself on him even when rejected. Woo Yeon had been brainwashed for a long time, and his logic is messed up, so he’s okay with his stepbrother helping him with sexual stuff??? I guess it has to be that absurd for them to “consensually” have sex, but in the end, it’s still just sex, not love. So, I’ll officially drop this series if Woo Yeon suddenly falls in love with Woojin because the dick so good or something by fan logic, and given the direction it’s heading + the fan reactions, that’s very likely. It’s my fault for expecting anything more than brainrot porn.

It’s also funny how the author deliberately puts Junghwi down as much as possible while still using him to drag out this frustrating drama. And the truth is, dragging his down, and he is still better than Woojin, because at least he didn’t hypnotize and rape his own brother. Honestly, the author is going to throwing this poor guy soon anyway to continue the brainrot mind-break porn and it should have always been like that instead of trying to create this half-baked drama.

I feel like you should just save yourself the effort and drop this now because we all know how it's likely going to go down; but I mean...go off ig, if ranting makes you feel better? Though, clearly you're not enjoying it, so why suffer?
The rest of us are here to popcorn the drama and cliffhangers, because even though you call it half-baked, it's really good at hooking in readers.

I decided to translate the scene in the hospital because it’s so good.
Brett : …Finally, I’ve met you.
That was a great tackle.
Hayden : Did you keep asking to meet just to say this?
Brett: …I said you wouldn’t lose anything, but now I’ve incurred a debt that’s hard to repay…
Hayden: There’s no debt at all.
That was my decision.
…I’m attracted to you.
I know you realize that too, but…
You don’t want me to say it out loud, do you?
I’m not stupid enough not to understand your signals.
But now it can’t go on any longer…
Hayden: I’ve marked you.
Brett: …What?
Hayden: I know, it’s impossible.
When I first heard about it, I thought so too.
Their said it was just a hallucination of the brain.
So, I don’t know when it will fade away.
…When I’m in front of you, everything becomes chaotic.
I can’t think clearly.
Even now… I think I need time.
You don’t need to visit me until I’m discharged.

I’m actually wondering, did Brett actually know of Hayden’s affection like he said or was it Hayden’s own perception? Bc when I was rereading the previous season I didn’t see Brett knowing about Hayden’s feelings. Anyways I can’t believe he revealed it so early but I’m glad he did. I hope Brett can realize what he wants with this relationship after this what a start to the season

One interesting thing is that even though Winter keeps going on about how his relationship with Raymon is “love,” I don’t actually feel that way because Winter treat Raymon straight up brutal at least typical yandere tried to comfort their victim a little bit, Winter does non of that, he just being violent and scare the shit out of Raymon while saying like he adore him.
The way Winter looks at Raymon when Raymon goes against his wishes is quite cold and even openly annoyed. Maybe the “love-hate” hashtag isn’t just for Raymon
It does seem like that kind of love, where you love someone so much that you end up also hating them the most ? Winter so mess up and i end up like his character more lol

Chapter 10 exists solely to dispel the idea that Raymon and Winter are equally crazy. Raymon, in despair, realizes how powerless he is against Winter. Winter is completely crazy and delusional. He decides everything on his own and acts on it with the thought “I’m only serving Raymon” Nope, that’s just the Raymon in his delusions. The real Raymon is terrified of him.
I can’t really call it’s porn…i mean the artist not drawing it sexy at all despite it uncensored, everything Winter did to Raymon is straight up torture and show as scary thing…which is good for me. But i do hope Winter stop fucking Raymon in next chapter tho, i want see more development than fucking…

I’ve read quite a few BL stories with dark themes like rape, kidnapping, or Stockholm syndrome, and I’ve realized that the common reaction from many readers is, “Oh, the victim is a bit crazy too, so he and the perpetrator match each other freak” and the “Victim also make perpetrator cry and regret so their equal now” but yeah, no their not and i can said Raymon will never be crazy as Winter no matter how author developed his character in future, because he is Winter’s victim, their never be the same, idc author opinion on this, they may romanticize it or not, depending on various reasons. Since in fictional sometimes enjoyment more important that moral.
But still, just because the victim’s reaction isn’t to break down crying, go insane, or be terrified doesn’t mean they’re not a victim. Raymon may be hyper-sexual masochistic, but that doesn’t mean he wanted to be kidnapped or humiliated like how Winter treat him, not to mention Winter could literally kill him, that puppy cute boi is violent psychopath who also super delusional, normal logic not working on him. That why he scary af
Will their end up together and “match each other freaki” with crazy ass HE?
It’s hard to say, if the story follows real life moral standards, then no, but we’re talking about fiction here. Regardless of the author’s decision, I just hope they build the story with care, love, and respect for the character and the story, i have some down up and down feeling about how the story go now but everything can change my mind in future.
Whether this story has potential depends on the reader’s taste. For me, it still holds a lot interesting potential because I’m interested in Winter character and curious to see how Raymon will react the this horrible situation. I’ll continue following the developments to form my own opinion. I still like Winter as character tho, he fuck-up moments is so thrilling and a bit comedy to me tbh

Yeah seriously. Mc is NOWHERE NEAR winters level of crazy like what. But thats what makes this a thriller, because despite mc being a bit of a jerk hes still human, he doesn't deserve to be treated like this.
a guy mc finally thought matched his freak was actually someone who's been stalking him for a long time, obsessed and sending him creepy letters (even mc and the bar guy laid this part of winters personality out at the very beginning), is extremely dangerous and unhinged. They DONT match each others freak and thats why its scary. winters goes far beyond that, hes literally fucked up and mc is clearly terrified and keeps trying to escape. They are not the same.
That switch up is what we should be focusing on, not trying to be like “oh its okay because mc is freaky” yeah!! He is!! But winters is inhumane!! Its not the same!

This is unrelated to the main plot, but I went to the author/artist’s Twitter, and there’s Chuseok (Korean holiday) art. Raymon is shown as someone who enjoys teasing and seducing Winter, while Winter keeps his usual innocent and awkward demeanor.
Basically, the two of them are attending a festival, and Raymon says he’s bored, so he suggests to Winter that they go “pound some rice cakes.” Winter, thinking Raymon really means pounding rice cakes, innocently asks if Raymon wants him to pound harder. Lol.
Maybe that will be their dynamic if Winter not crazy
Who has read the latest chapter yet? I just want to say that Season 2 Hayden did not disappoint me at all!
Finally, Hayden has succeeded in cornering Brett!!!
hayden really said “the ball is in your court now”, that was cool of him, now brett is your turn to deliver.
I was a bit worried that Hayden would silently overthinking and endure everything on his own and quietly distance himself from Brett, but in season 2, Hayden erased that fear. He immediately told Brett what he wanted, and now Brett has to play by Hayden’s rules.
it was so sexy of him fr haha i can say for sure it was not in my bingo card
YEA i was worried that they would just ice each other out or something too but as always this author impresses me with the storyline..i'm so fascinated by how brett will act in response. he def cares about hayden - maybe not to the extent of hayden's feelings for him? and it's not clear how aware of it he is. i feel like even if he were aware of it being asked to be vulnerable/risk himself is soo out of his usual zone that i could see him being stubborn and still trying to control the situation on his terms (could see him provoking hayden...maybe leading to more angry sex lmao esp bc the author said this season would be full of friction/aggressive)
I really don’t have any problem with them continuing to argue, haha. As you said, I initially started reading this series because of the angry sex, so it wouldn’t be fun if they got too emotional too soon, lol. I think Brett doesn’t feel like it’s the right time to date yet. He’s pretty busy with the family’s presidential campaign drama, and having to pay an unclear price like what Hayden is asking for is quite a headache (haha, make it even more awkward, Brett).
Hayden in this season development so good, and I like that. He’s strong but not indifferent. He determination to change their current relationship but doesn’t try to push Brett away like ss1. On the contrary, I feel like Hayden is the one actively trying to bring them closer together.
hahah i get you one of my pet peeves is when so called "dominant"/"alpha"-type bottoms become super uke-fied as the series goes on like NOOO i want to see actual alphaxalpha i want the aggression and tension and battle for dominance which is hot as hell - this is like one of the only series out there that actually does it convincingly imo. i would love seeing brett retain his pride and stubbornness and not cave easily!! hayden is shaping up to be a worthy opponent (partner haha)
Where are you guys reading the second season??
