I literally got so angry I wanted to cry at least twice in the first four chapters. Like seriously what is wrong with her father why is he such a jerk. Even if she wasn't his real daughter she spent his whole life with him and did everything for him he didn't have to act like that. I WISH I HAD A VIRTUAL GUN SO I COULD SHOOT HIM. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
I hate you, I hate him, I hate everything and everyone. there is no way this story is going to end well. And WTF is with the ceo-secretary shit. If they were going to add a secretary love intrest who actually likes the ceo then the story should have been in the secretary's pov. How are they going to make this work. THIS STORY MAKES ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF!!!!!! ヽ(`Д´)ノ
I get that what chang did was horribly wrong but it was also ed who started it and did all that stuff to taunt chang. you guys are only focusing on one side of the story. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
It wasn't plain provocation he literally told chang "But I'm also damn good at fucking. I can screw you too, if you're curious." he then continues to taunt him and proceeds to unbuckle chang's belt even after chang says no. He even tells chan to "Bend Over," and asks him if he's turned on.!!! CHANG TELLS ED TO STOP BUT HE KEPT GOING!!!

I'm not saying what Ed did was right...it was skirting on the edges of assault.
BUT! U are forgetting the most important fact CHANG BOUGHT ED FOR THE NIGHT!!!!!
So, I can say that as a job, Ed wasn't totally off- like he was paid for to have s*x so initiating it might not be completely wrong, definitely not right either. It was uncomfortable touching.
But, Chang used physical force to subdue Ed and r*ped him. I don't blame Chang 100%, but 85% is Chang's fault.
Both the parties aren't completely innocent. But just cause someone is selling themselves doesn't mean u can force them. Consent is important!
I would have also gone for 50-50. But the only reason I blame Chang slightly more is because he also physically assaulted Ed!
And yeah...Ed was a bit stupid, but we need to remember the fact that he was a man, a bodyguard. He probably didn't imagine ever getting raped! It's stupid ego, but some guys have that.
In general, touching someone inappropriately and beating them up to manhandle them is essentially different. In the first case, u can physically retaliate against the offender, but in the second, u are practically helpless.
BOTH of them are wrong nonetheless.
Ed assaults Chang first, bites Chang first, punches Chang first and then is surprised that Chang is stronger than him. This situation could not have gone any differently because Ed was escalating it - first sexually and then physically. Yes Chang manhandles him, but Ed throws the first punch when Chang hugs him and says it's not a joke and that he wants to hold Ed too.
It's 50/50. Why are we deciding how someone felt about getting their dick grabbed and whether it was disconcerting enough or not?
Also the context of this is sexual, but Ed asked Chang if he was really planning to do it and Chang changed the subject to work -- he wasn't planning on doing it.
It's not 50/50. There are multiple meanings for assault. What Ed did was the "threat or attempt to inflict unwanted physical contact on a person". Chang did the first part of the definition of assault which is "inflicting physical harm unto a person" Ed was stupid. He provoked Chang. Chang barely tried to De-escalate briefly but was like fuck it. The main reason that Chang get 100% of the blame is that he purposefully bought Ed. Ed is not aware of who his clients are beforehand. If Ed was aware, I'm positive he would have turned down that job. It's insinuated in the story that Chang has some feelings for Ed that he suppresses and him being mean to Ed is the reflection of that. Ed sees Chang as the step brother/friend who betrayed him. I believe Chang used the debt to keep that boundary active so he doesn't touch him. However, buying him changes everything. That's why Ed was confused. He taunted a man who, in his mind, always annoyed and played tricks on him. A man who hates homosexuality. A man who is the closest thing he has to a family. Ed was stupid, naive, and cluessless. But he has ALWAYS been stupid, naive and clueless when dealing with Chang. Chang knows this. He know he can always make Ed bend to his will. Ed even admitted that he would kneel and kowtow if it will make Chang stop. Chang knew what he was gonna do from the jump, he had no intentions of not having sex with Ed, he wanted it to be consensual, which is why he bought him to begin with. If he wanted to "talk about work" he could've did that at his office. Chang is a predatory asshole.
Everyone is pretending Ed has no understanding of what is going on between him and Chang but he does know. He acts as an unreliable narrator frequently, anyway looking forward to chapter 54 translations. I dont think it changes the situation but I think it invalidates some of the arguments people have been making
No one is pretending anything. Chang only shows his mean and bullying side to Ed. So Ed has only experienced Chang trolling and giving him threats regarding his debt. It was change who kept emphasizing that benevolent push the deadline back further and suggested that Ed either sells his body or his organs. When he isn't being a threatening jerk, he is trolling Ed. Just like in the chapter where Ed was trying to meet up with McQueen. Ed mentioned this is one of the tactics Chang used to get under his skin and control him. Chang has been in control of Ed since Ed was young. With his every interaction with Chang, Ed can't defy him. Why is that? We the readers can see Chang struggling but Ed can't. But Chang can read Ed like a book, just like McQueen and Eds co workers could. Ed is written as a naive man who still has innocence despite his situation and was to acknowledged and loved.
It is a form of sexual assault true. BUT, as I will repeat groping someone and raping someone are different degrees of sexual assaults.
Don't we have first, second, third degree murders? Shouldn't there be an argument that murder is nonetheless murder? But it doesn't work that way.
I'm not saying Ed is stupid, he was maybe fully aware of his provocations. But what I'm talking about is-
Chang had the power to push away Ed, if wanted to. Ed didn't.
It's like, we are saying: a girl gropes a guy, so the guy can rape her. But the fault is 50/50.
It's not. I'm not saying Ed is blameless. It's just that what Chang did was more awful.
That's what I'd like to state again. Just cause someone is selling themselves, doesn't mean one can rape them.
HOW COULD YOU!!! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO INTRODUCE A NEW CHARACTER AND THEN JUST END THE CHAPTER WITHOUT ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!!!!!!! WWHHYYYYYYY (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
