The novel hasnt been translated yet, but there are some nice people who have been translating some parts of the novel and omg it gets so steamy!!! lskdjfskdfj Erudian is so infatuated by her (=・ω・=)

but there's a part where she's on top of him and she's like "mine mine" and he's like " yes im all yours" (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ KILL ME NOW

That entire chapter was so freaking cute!!! He's so smitten by her its so endearing. And I love how she told him that she was going to kidnap him and then copied what he had said to her when he kidnapped her lmaooo so cute!!! can they just get married already? ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ

why does the heroine have to have the same name as me??? lmaoooo when they said her name was Mia i was like "NoooooooOOOOOO" (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

Chapter 40 starts out with Aseph and LJ still holding the knife. He goes stiff and asks, “...What did you just say?” LJ uses this chance to take the knife away from him. “Give it to me. It’s dangerous...” But she shakes her head and throws the knife out the window behind her.

Aseph pulls her wrist again and asks again, “Zay, What did you say?!” But LJ is trying to avoid his eyes. “Tell me! what did you just say!?” he shouts. She pulls away from his grasp and doesn’t answer, but instead begins to untie the knot on her dress. Aseph is confused and shocked as to why she’s removing her top. “What are you doing? Are you insane?!” he tries stopping her, but she just looks up at him shaking.

She reveals the green seal on her chest to him and he’s at a loss for words.

[[You are someone who bears a seal?]]

Aseph is completely distraught after finding out the truth.

“This is a seal” LJ confesses, finally.
“You don’t have to tell me (I know what it is)...” Aseph is covering his face when he says this.

He places his thumb over her seal pressing/rubbing into it. His face is angry/pissed.

[[Should I dig/cut it out?]] His hands are shaking. (the transl. says “shall we dig?” lmao so i'm assuming this is what he’s saying)

“God damnit…SON OF A BITCH!!” He shouts and he’s completely lost his composure at this point. (BTW I don’t think he was calling her a bitch, but just cursing out of anger.)

“Aseph..” she holds onto his trembling fist, “I’m sorry... I’m sorry I lied to you.”
“Did you always know?” he asks, still shaking in anger.
“I’m sorry...I love all the moments that I’m with you so I kept it hidden. I should have quit when I knew I could not be with you forever...I’m so sorry.” LJ is also scared and shaking at this point.

He doesn’t say anything at first and instead re-ties the knot on her dress to cover herself up. He dusts off his jacket (it fell to the floor during this fiasco lol) that she was wearing and places it back on her shoulders.

“Don’t get me wrong. This does not mean I’ve forgiven you…” he finally speaks, but she does not say anything. “I feel like I’m being played in your hands right now..”

LJ starts crying even more, and starts apologizing over and over again, but he’s not having it.

“Don’t apologize. Hearing it does not make me feel any better. How dare you...saying that you don’t love me?” he says.

LJ is hysterically crying and weeps,“I have a seal, but you don’t have one! That’s why…. My heart has a deadline... Someday it (my feelings) will disappear like a bubble...my heart...”

Aseph is speechless.

“I love you so much... you’re more important than my own life. I heard that the heart will break into pieces one day and disappear without a trace.” (uhhh i’m not sure if she’s talking about her own heart or his heart lol)

“How can I do that? How can I...when you say you love me…”
“So?...” he interjects. (I think it’s more like so what are you trying to tell me…? Or pressing for her to continue..)
“I like you...I love you too,” she finally says.

The next panels are silent with LJ burying her face into his chest (still crying) as he holds her. Aseph still looks upset, but it’s obvious that he’s forgiven her.

“I’m sorry...I’m sorry for hurting you Aseph.” she weeps, but he holds her closer telling her not to cry.

“The day turned out to be a mess, but I’m happy..” (uhh??? not sure about this translation cus it was worded weird sorry i tried lol)

The chapter ends with her father barging out of the ballroom shouting at them, “Aseph, you really!!...How dare you with my daughter!!”

Sorry im pretty sure A LOT of what was said was mistranslated, but i did my best to get the gist of what was going on~ I’ll try to post a summary for chapter 41 later (=・ω・=)

Chapter 39 begins with LJ telling herself that she should have rejected/resisted him since the beginning and feels very apologetic to Aseph. Aseph is in shock, saying "don't lie to me" and "Was it all a lie? Are u saying it’s my fault for misunderstanding?"

She says to herself that it’s all her fault and that she screwed up so she doesnt deserve to cry like this. She says to herself that she deceived him when she should have been saving him (? not sure if this is correct but something along those lines lol)

He touches her arm and tells her "No matter what I do, you cannot do that(feel the same)? Don't you love me?" She doesn’t say anything, but says to herself that she does love him and that she's sorry that she can’t answer him honestly. She's crying at this point and Aseph is obviously distraught, but he knows that she is lying.

He says to himself that she made him live without her before and now she expects him to go back to those days again (when he was alone)?

He grabs her wrist and she tries to tell him that she won’t go, but he doesn't listen and they both exit the ballroom leaving everyone in shock.

They're now in a dark corridor with Aseph still holding onto her wrist. LJ immediately pulls away and addresses him as Lord Randell and tells him not to make a scene where there are many people gathered and asks him if he isn't worried what people will think of him after this?

He’s holding her wrist again, frantic telling her, “Then shout! Scream! Tell everyone that Lord Randell has insulted you! Take me to court! Take away my honor and drag me down to the bottom!”

“Lord Randell, please” she begs and Aseph tells her, “You can’t do it, I know you can’t. You don’t love me? That’s a lie. You won’t do that to me. No matter what I do, you won’t scream.”

More tears are falling and then Aseph says “Shall we test it then? I’m curious too...just how far you’re willing to put up with me..” he leans in closer to LJ. “If you don’t want this, just bite my tongue. I’ll never back down until you do. Even if you end up blaming me...”

He kisses her and she kisses him back while they both hold on to each other. She gives into him and then after a while he pulls away. He removes his coat, and places it on her. She looks up at him and Aseph says “You said you didn’t like it..” (think he was referring to the time he tried kissing her before, but now she isnt refusing him)

So he kisses her again. He pulls away again and says “You said you didn’t love me…” she responds “....I don’t love you.”

He’s silent and then says “I feel like you’ve pushed me off a cliff.” She calls him Aseph again and then he tells her that she only calls his name during times like this (when he’s in pain), but other times she just calls him Lord Randell.

She tries to retract, but he says, “You took me to heaven, and now I feel like I’ve fallen into the abyss again. Aren’t you amazing?” he begins to pull out a knife. “I don’t need any of it.. if it’s not with you, it’s all meaningless.”

LJ shouts for him to stop, but he smiles up at her and says “Don’t worry, I could never hurt you.” he points the knife to himself and she begs him to stop and to listen to her. “I’m not going to leave you” she says and tries to take hold of the knife, but he places her hand on the knife and begins to push it into himself. She begs again for him to stop, but he tells her it’s too late.

He thinks to himself that even if he has to resort to doing something like this, he wants LJ to only think of him, but then she shouts and finally reveals the fact that she has a seal. This is how the chapter ends.

Aseph's original plan was to marry Zay and kill her after, but upon meeting her, he was already drawn to her. Why? cus they're actually soulmates. (●'◡'●)ﾉ

In the novel that our character read, Zay is the beloved child of God. Aseph was originally supposed to be the child fated to die young, but Zay used her powers to save him, so she ends up dying in his place and ceases to exist in that timeline in the novel. So Aseph loses his fated partner whos supposed to be Zay. His attraction then transfers to her twin sister Elisha even tho she isnt his fated partner, but she holds a connection to Zay.. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

And Aseph's seal/soulmark is apparently with Zay, that's why he doesn't have one. His soul was devoured by the devil, hence why he does not have a soulmark. (not sure if this one is real but its possible)

what do y'all think about this relationship? do you find it toxic? Aseph's character obviously suffers from ptsd and is now depending on the FL to fulfill his needs. I personally want him to get better and hope they have a happy ending together, but is that just wishful thinking? whats your opinion? (=・ω・=)

omg i have no clue what's going on, but he dragged her out of the ballroom and she rejects him again but he kisses her and then takes out his knife to stab himself.... im so confused (⊙…⊙ )...

im reading the comments from korean readers and a lot of people are upset cus azef is basically gas lighting Zay into staying with him cus he tells her that she only seems to care about him when he gets hurt so he tries hurting himself and says he cant live without her ╮(￣▽￣)╭ But then she throws the knife out the window~

Also Zay finally reveals her seal to him and he seems really upset that she didn't say anything, but he forgives her (sorta). then she tells him how much she loves him but she has a seal and he does not have one so her feelings in the future will end up changing so she doesnt want him to have feelings for her (feels like she doesnt deserve to be loved by him) because she will just end up hurting him in the end...

It's so refreshing to read stories like this about family instead of your typical romantic plot. The story really tugs at your heartstrings and you can sympathize with all the characters. I really hope they all have a happy ending :(
