Many Korean fans and even international fans have made claims that the author has an incest fetish and it’s might seem to be true since if you go on their naver blog the author has said very questionable things about incest and wrote a book about incest and age gap relationships. And almost every single one of their manhwas/novels have incest. That’s why characters like Cesare and Jeremy exist. Some people are even saying that they might be a man since how his writing style is and how he talked about women’s periods and private parts, very inappropriately and weirdly just overall seem to be very uneducated about women anatomy.

well i don't see romantization in the story, even if author does has fetish, it doesn't really affect the story, i think it's actually an interesting part (i mean who knew this holly bastards would use yhis kind of a move), but anyway i think despite authors weird statements, we should view the story in isolation from that

I think this has to be one of the worst things I’ve ever read. And I don’t know why it’s so highly rated like what’s so good about this story. He doesn’t even love her. He looks at her as a sexual object that’s it. The whole story is about him raping and beating the shit out of her. Later on the story, he’s gonna put a gun up her vagina and shoot her uterus. That’s crazy and some you want her to end up with this man. What is wrong with some of you? Dark romance? Where is the romance in this? I see no love

Apart from the story, dragging I really do actually like the fl and I’m not really into weak or soft fls but I think she is pretty well written, and her character development is slow but in a realistic way. I like the fact that she actually generally tries to better herself and the way the story portrays her trauma doesn’t feel like trauma porn like how to get my husband on my side. But what truly ruined the story for me is the ml he is so aggressive and most of the sex scenes don’t feel consensual. A lot of the times, especially in the beginning it felt like she just did it with him because she was scared of him not because she generally actually wanted to. It really bothered me and rubbed me the wrong way, especially since he’s so aggressive towards her. I don’t generally understand why people are hating on her in the comment section the one that you guys should be hating on and who is the problem is the ml.
I have always felt the same, I like that she has had gradual confidence building to make her own decisions which is why I think going on the journey was a choice made out of her character growth that I like. I get she can come across as frustrating because of her lack of experience that goes with her newfound stubbornness but she has only been trying to fight for herself the whole time and she was certain she needed this to gain something and help others. I don't know why she gets so much hate because of that. As soon as he agreed she can go he should have dropped the argument and tried to educate her better on monsters or what to look out for. She can't help what she doesn't know and they need a healer. I hope he sees how much of a fighter she really is and stops putting her in this fragile box that needs his control and protection because that's not what anyone needs in a partner.
Why are some of you guys fighting in the comments section about the fl’s body like she is over sexualized you like the story or not but this is also a smut story so I don’t know what some of you expect like 99% of smut stories the fls are always petite with humongous boobs it’s smut it can’t get any more sexual than that. Although I’m not gonna lie some of you are acting like this is something new or different it’s not you can find any story like this on Wattpad and like most of booktalk.

She looks out of proportion if you want to look at an actually curvy and big boob girl that is the fl from childhood friends complex she doesn’t look so exaggerated and so out of proportion. Plus, she supposed to be malnourished most people who are malnourished don’t have that body, even if they have the genetics because they’re underweight and malnourished like you can’t look have her figure if you don’t work out or eat properly. Even then, you can’t really achieve this figure unless you get some type of plastic surgery.
Should I continue reading? I think the plot is quite predictable and repetitive please, someone tell me does it get any better? Like the fl gets abused repeatedly and then someone comes in I guess saves her in a way. Also freya actions are so predictable like she’s so dumb. She has to be one of the worst female “villains”. She is so poorly written I’m tired of the typical female villain, who constantly verbally abuses the fl for no actual good reason and it’s just there to make us feel bad for the fl. I need an actual good complex character who has an actual good motive for their actions. These authors need to get new ideas cause I’m tired of seeing the same thing. They’re always making the female villains fight over a MAN or it be the most stupidest reason.

I completely understand what you mean with freya, she really is a predictable character like in any other manwhas. But i can assure you this story is not predictable at all. Whats yet to come is something that i have never really seen in other manwhas. This story and ruby character and other characters like cesare, izek etc.. are mostly based on the real life lucrezia borgia which makes it more compelling.
Freya may be a poorly written character but shes a side character for a reason and not really the 'main villain'. On the other side ruby, ellen and even cesare as the villain, are well written characters.
In the end its up to you if you want to continue reading. If this story and ruby as the fl is not your cup of tea then you shoudnt force yourself to read it
The ending is quite predictable. We all know that she’s going to be saved by the ml and freya like always is going to say something or do something stupid. It is like every other manhwa the fl always has an abuse backstory and villain female is always fighting for a man and just being petty for no reason. Cesare is well written, but also quite predictable and kind of an idiot.
i mean a happy ending aint that bad and she deserves to be saved but she also kinda saves the ML so yeah but youre indeed right about freya without doubt.

I do like Ruby’s character I think she’s very well written and interesting but all the villains are kind of dumb and make the stupidest decisions. I don’t mind the damsel in distress trope there’s nothing wrong with that trope it just has the tendencies to be repetitive. I actually like under the oak tree it has that trope, but It’s well done and the fl actually tries to improve herself and actually plans to survive. Except the ml he’s too aggressive and gives me the ick.

Um, this story is depicting a relatable cycle of abuse. Sorry to say, but when you're in it, I'd say it does get repetitive. And Freya is not even a key villain. And has she really been "saved"??? Theyve solved situations, but they are only starting to fix key problems (I'm sorry for coming at you but offering no recommendations tho)

As you said she too dumb, she a mid boss or something. Before she was more affective because she had an edge. But now that her character is unraveling, she's becoming sloppy. And as for the brother, his strength comes from being batshit crazy. You say the villains are dumb, but until recently they've been quite successful. They really just act dumb in front of the FL cuz they look down on her, which has made them fearless. I guess what I'm saying is, it seems like you don't like this kind of story, rather than it just being stupid. The logic within the world the author built checks out. Some people might be triggered by your use of "stupid" cuz it's doing such a great job of depicting specific traumas, so it does make me bias ngl. But I don't wanna police an opinion, of course, I just disagree
I’m just calling her mostly dumb because she doesn’t actually have a good motive and she’s been successful bc she has this fake personality, which is not currently working in her favor recently and she knows that and we all know she’s gonna go and tell the ml about Ruby, kissing her brother. Which is not a smart move. Her actions are very predictable because she’s not smart and a dumb character.

I had a good laugh reading at these comments like some of you are trying to make this manhwa deep and realistic, when it’s not, I swear I saw someone say this manhwa is poetic like what. It’s porn and a mafia romance it’s not supposed to be super realistic or really deep at all. What’s realistic about a Korean man who is in the mafia and is in his 20s falling in love with a 30 year old woman who is bland as paper. I swear you can find this types of stories anywhere on Wattpad.
