It's better this way, I reccomend not to read season 6 (because it's hurt, the only good ending is hyukjin & yeonjoo, and I'm glad for them, I like this couple since the beginning)

I just recently read this, can someone please explain to me what happen at the ending when he eat the cake?
I'm confused, is he has health problem etc
He had lost his sense of taste due to his family forcing him to take meds. While his condition improved, he never regained his sense of taste. I'm assuming he finally got it back.
