It's a tragedy in which the girl is a teenager who lives in a town where night sky isn't visible anymore. And i will admit I haven't revisited the earlier chapters, but it seems like she has to try very hard to keep up appearances and stay on her toes with tatsuo, and she was far more open and comfortable in her skin with kouya. What broke her and kouya apart was them starting to keep up appearances and pride in front of each other instead of being completely honest, the way she always is with tatsuo. He is a lot more mature and smoother, and she doesn't see herself as an equal and keeps sidelining and doubting herself in this relationship.
Again my memory of the entire dynamic is shaky so I could be wrong.
