I could get why its confusing because they are using old language XD but basically he said "titles and names obscure people like a mist". You can tell it's old because they used 靄instead of 霧. Hopefully you understand this!

Not really good with proper English but if you mean you want to make the sentence fit the 2 bubbles then you can say "Titles and names obscure people, much like a mist". The next line makes sense because he basically says "It's the same with words"
