i remember this one story (forgot title) where it was a younger boy and an older girl where no sexual/romantic feelings were implied or ever lead on, and it was fine. esp since the older part didnt ever view him in that way nor was it ever suggested that they did. i think that's whats happening here, and the people who are making sexual/romantic or hoping for it are just vile. so far there isnt any sexual innuendo either so i just hope it stays that way..
a lot of messed up media ruins wholesome concepts like this so i get the weird feelings abt it, but we really just have to perceive what the creator is presenting. we can definitely hope for nothing weird but we shouldn't claim things that arent there.
age gaps will always make me uncomfortable bc thats just how it is for me, so i wont ever revisit this story bc why would i do that to myself lmfao but i see nothing here but a fluff, childhood story.
the only thing id like to point out as weird is its category in shounen ai. correct me if im wrong but doesnt that mean that there is still romance between the two? perhaps it was a miscategoration (giving the benefit of the doubt here). if my idea behind the genre is true though, and this story remains under the category, then ill go back everything i said bc of the contradiction. thats where it'll get weird.
