When I first started reading this I remember being annoyed over Hyesung’s attitude towards Dojin and thinking he was being overly mean and selfish…now coming back to this years later I wholeheartedly wish he had left to China and never looked back.
It’s so heartbreaking to realize that Hyesung will never get justice for what Dojin did to him because even Hyesung himself is convinced he’s also at fault…every single adult in that story failed him Dojin’s parents included
He would probably get trafficked into china and live a much worse life of what he has right now. Lets not forget this is an omegaverse and they live mostly by their instincts and pheromones...
.
. Its really interesting how people dont see that he just accepted that he indeed did some mistakes and just want to be better together with dojin and his baby.
By “going to China,” I’m referring to Heesoo’s arrangements for Hyesung which included connecting him with a rehab program specifically for omegas who were fleeing domestic abuse. In that scenario, Hyesung would be supported with housing, job connections, and his own likeminded community…Hyesung’s decision to stay was not made to benefit him and the author made that clear
Simply put, Hyesung chose to stay because Dojin’s plan worked exactly like he intended it to—trapping him with feelings of guilt and touching on his personal trauma. The forced bond was just the cherry on top for Dojin (he’d already won at that point)
I just realized you were speaking about Heeseo too. I like to add that what Heeseo tried to do wasn’t really right. Instead of encouraging him to stay and get wellness treatment, make him feel like he’s wanted and that the pregnancy wasn’t end of world, something like that—he decided to make him go away.
Chap 35-36 has Heesoo’s conversations with the program’s boss and Hyesung about future plans. I did make a mistake on the company’s primary directives—the story only vaguely mentioned that they helped omegas in need flee the country, establish a new identity, & find them jobs (and not whether they specifically supported victims of domestic abuse). But based on the context of the story and the boss’s conversation with the previous customer, we can safely assume that they were escaping for one reason or another in part due to their vulnerable status. In Chap 36, it was Heesoo himself who later promised to connect Hyesung with other likeminded omegas in China to make sure he was not alone.
I’m not denying that it was Hyesung’s final decision to stay, but I’d instead argue that a choice underlined by force and coercion (regardless of the outcome) is not really a choice at all…or at least that’s what my country’s laws would state
Heesoo is an interesting character—I agree that he has never had (and likely will never have) Hyesung’s best interests at heart. His choice to hide Hyesung was not made with good intentions & his actions are downright malicious at times. He is eager to get Hyesung away from Dojin because he believes that people are more than willing to suffer abuse and indignity if it means a life of easy comfort. Why should he give any respect to someone who so easily throws theirs away?
As Heesoo struggles to support Hyesung alone & outside of Dojin’s sphere of influence however, he gradually realizes the cruel reality of what it means to live as an omega and having one’s bodily autonomy forcibly taken away from them. We witness this through his change in attitude towards Hyesung following his sudden heat & his increased concern for Hyesung’s well-being upon leaving. Ironically, Hyesung becomes one of the few people to recognize the value in respecting Hyesung’s right to decide his life—reckless as it may be.
I’m sure there’s countless better options they could have chosen instead (although I’m not sure if there’s a lot of “wellness treatments” that would advocate for victims to live peacefully with their abuser). But the forced bond makes it clear that this story was never about Hyesung receiving the help he needs & succeeding as an individual—he never actually had a choice to be anything but Dojin’s partner in the first place.
I don’t really remember much, just that the seme wanted to be an astronaut when he was younger, but because he was colorblind he had to give up. Either the seme or the uke might(?) be a cook
maybe this one? :) http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/hoshi_dake_ga_shitteru/
This fits both the "astronaut" and "colorblind" tags, but it's a toss-up from there. http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/hoshi_dake_ga_shitteru/
Sad to see u go diva
