I assume the author wanted to emphasize familial love instead of romantic love between the two.
Since our villainess recieved no love from her family and her fiancee and that shaped her feelings, it makes sense that she's given up on paternal and romantic love (I really don't think she is IN LOVE with Angel, but does love him and her kids). But her love for the reincarnatior seems to land in the devotion and worship

I know for readers like us it seems like the obvious outcome would be for the women who sacrificed so much for each other to be together in the end and become wives, but the author probably never thought of them as romantic partners, which I'm disappointed in too ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Honestly I'll be the first to defend platonic love and that not everything is romantic, so I'm fine I'm with no Yuri but like....the author went about it in the weirdest fucking way possible.

It LOOKS like Yuri. As much as my friends mean to me I'm NOT going to think of their faces when I get confessed to. I'm not going to accept a confession because the guy loves the personality I put on when I try to act as her which means he loves her as much as I do. That's just downright weird???
