Wish I read the comments before starting...Nothing wrong with a downer ending, it's just the execution of it wasn't that great. Though honestly...I'm glad they didn't get together. The reason most commenters are mad is because President Mo didn't get his happy ending. Xiao really doesn't matter in the equation because despite being the focus, the trauma and the power imbalance that should put the reader more on his side...he's just not likable. Oh well, it's still a good time, read it for the humor and President Mo who learns and grows as a person.
