Obviously people are going to dislike a character that causes unnecessary drama to the main couple and even then if the guy is hot enough there will be people asking for him to be coupled up in a sequel story. Tell me one bl where you've seen the readers ask for a sequel were the girl "third wheel" is the main character, people just start calling the girls name's , I've dropped so many stories because of how much the readers started spouting misogynistic shit and straight up call women "whores" and "sluts"

Also if the guy ex even if he’s hot if he’s extremely toxic I don’t see people praising him. Usually from what I’ve seen people call him names too and say they hate him as well. My bottom line is any ex introduced to the story is meant to make the story have more drama and the readers won’t like them no matter if they’re a girl or a guy.

I get why people would interpret mc as a trans woman but it's also really weird how some of y'all see a guy into "cute" and "feminine" stuff and assume there's no way he can be a man. Like this specific story has themes about gender that are specifically about toxic masculinity, mc is insecure about his own masculinity because he doesn't fit into the stereotype that's why there's lines about him wanting to be a girl, so that his interests wouldn't be judged, so he wouldn't be judged by people.
