Ash is not a green flag in my opinion. In the main story and most of the side stories, it's usually the MC whose feelings get hurt. He's so in love that he rarely lets Ash chase or worry about him. Ash is usually kind, but when things don’t go his way, he puts the MC in uncomfortable situations—like in this chapter.
In the main story, if Ash was just a F-buddy, then he shouldn't treat the MC like a boyfriend. It should be just F and leave.
Anyway, this chapter made me uncomfortable. Maybe it's because I don’t like this kind of play, or maybe it's because the MC clearly felt uncomfortable and didn’t give his consent.
Ash is a yellow flag, not a green one.
A lot of readers say the ex was good, that he’s changed, and that he has a soft spot for the FL—but that’s exactly why I hate him even more. He’s not just taking her for granted; he’s taking his past for granted too. It’s as if he believes that because he was once good to her, his "little mistake" (according to him) doesn’t matter.
But that’s what makes the betrayal hurt the most. When the person who once wiped your tears becomes the reason you cry, it cuts deeper. He’s acting like his past kindness gives him a free pass, like "I was good to her, so she has to forgive me." Or worse, "I saved her from pain before, so a little pain from me now shouldn’t matter."
He’s weaponizing his past care as an excuse for his present actions. In his mind, she can’t move on because he was the one who "healed" her. But that’s not love—that’s toxic as hell. And the scariest part? It’s so damn realistic.
