I think maybe the reason he always says such crude/hurtful and snide words like "I will never love you/sex isnt love/" is basically a form if oppression on his side. His family has always married the mermaids line in Hope's of breaking the curse. I think their jobs is to accompany the mermaid and letting them live a long life with the benefits of having a marriage/a life/ children without the emotion of love behind them. This way, both families can continue to thrive. And this was the way for so many generations. So instead, in order to break the curse-the mermaid and the shamans descendant have to fall in love.

The original story was that the shaman was jealous. Jealous of what? Of the mermaid? No. He was jealous of the man. The shaman was in love with the mermaid. And the mermaid loved herself more than the man. So the man cursed the two people who had killed him, by making it so that the shaman could never have the mermaid, and the mermaid could never find love again. This is still just speculation but I honestly am rooting more for the creepy vice principal than this douchey seme. Hopefully the author tie the loose ends together Σ(っ°Д °;)っ

Even in this situation. When everything seems like its hopeless, I know Hak and Yona will create a miracle. Remember. Half of the prophecy still hasnt come true. Maybe this is the last arc. Maybe the author plans for this to be Yonas last test. She did fabulously in every tribe and even the neighboring country. She can win the capital. This is the end game. YONA WILL WIN. Throughout Yonas journey, she always had an antagonist or sth that she could fight. And now she is up against sth much more terrifying..strategic politics. She had used her brains before, when she was forced after her dragons were captured but the advisor isnt using force against her but veiled truths, she is being forced against her will by the fact that everything she is doing is for the good of the people. I admit that I hate the advisor, but he displays a talent for tactic. I applaud how 3 dimensional he is. Even if he is so hateful

I honestly think the pet shop owner is a cat. The cat isnt a part of the zodiac but is a central character in the overall tale. He now takes care of the zodiac. his eyes are slit vertically like a cat. Cat like tendencies of smirking. And when he "played" with the fishes in the tank, the other guy didnt see any fish meaning that there weren't any to begin with, or the owner ate then all.
