This man so delusional, he legit kidnapped her simply because she was asking for directions then get pissed that she escapes? DUH?? YOU KIDNAPPED THIS LADY
I spent this whole chapter laughing because you standing silently in the dark because the woman you arrested and was wanting to use didn’t want to be used and left you, now you talking about giving her everything? Everything BUT freedom All she wanted to do was travel and was snatched up.
I’m not sure but I’m really not feeling her makeup (?) it’s very clown-like and doesn’t really match her features. Like I understand they’re trying to show her as a villain with the heavy makeup but still draw her soft to show you otherwise but it’s many ways to do that than the uncoordinated makeup tones. It reminds me of 80s makeup.
It’s not the fact he’s a masochist that’s hilarious, it’s the fact he went to every place she went just to get hard whenever he saw her going apeshit on her family. Like he saw her dragging her brother by his eyebrow hairs and was biting his lip like “fuccck.. ” Her face expressions are fucking hilarious too, but on a serious note. I relate heavy to her family spending, I have the same issues with mine. So I totally understand the whole “being seen as the villain for being rational.”
I know they’re probably trying to make the ML the typical “obsessed” ML but for some reason it’s not hitting. Maybe because they hyped him up as some cold hearted guy and he instantly fell for her. I’ve read some obsessed ML stories that genuinely made me concerned because it was possessiveness being shown probably 1 time every 20 or so chapters, but with this guy, it’s literally every encounter.
It’s not even scary possessiveness, it’s like a jealous child mad their friend is playing with someone else. He was definitely not a well thought out character, the MC is a well rounded character who’s seeing herself in her son which makes her even more guilty even though she technically didn’t do anything because she was also a victim who hasn’t healed. Her son is a young victim of abuse who’s trying to learn to unlearn his protective mechanisms from when he was abused. They’re the only one who’s actually thought out, the rest just feel like filler.
I love this but do tell me, I need some spoilers.
- Isabella had FL take care of her friend for her, a guy who went by the name "Jake" that was part of the rebellions but doesn't remember his past. FL was nice and felt indebt to Isabella that she agreed to help her even though she was feeling scare and sus of Jake. She told Isabella she better return soon since Isabella was going to run away after that. Unfortunately this just leads to a spiral of events that didn't go as plan. Jake had tried to threaten FL with a gun but then gave her the gun to prove he won't hurt her. FL didn't know what to do with the gun and hid it. Eventually police came when they found out Jake might be there. They found the gun that was hidden in her belongings and linked her as Jake's lover. ML tried to protect her to get her out of jail. He was able to protect his sister from being associated with Jake and he asked a lawyer friend to help FL, but FL told the truth when the lawyer told her to lie that she was threatened to take in Jake. FL confess to the truth that she chose to help him. As a result she ended up in prison for 6 months. ML and FL never wrote to each other after that. ML was upset she didn't take his help and FL felt what she did made it over between them.
- After being released from prison she moved straight to NY, America with tickets she got from an inmate. When ML found out, he already given up trying to be with her and took that as her betrayal towards him. FL met Enzo (an Italian American) right upon landing in Manhattan and befriended him very quickly. She continued to live as a normal person working in NYC for 1 year. Until one day she got a job in a hotel. ML's friend who was at the hotel recognized her and decided to play a trick on ML since he knew ML still not fully over her. He had ML came over for business but she didn't realize ML was there since she didn't have her glasses on (her eyes were bad and ML bought her glasses before but she doesn't wear glasses because her jobs don't want her to wear them). Eventually she does recognize it was him from the large frame and voice, but he ignores her.
- After a few back and forth of ignoring each other, Enzo tried to ask FL to be with him. FL decided to really move on and accepted Enzo's hug. So she finally agrees to date him but that didn't even last a few days since she meets ML again at a job and
ML ended up kissing her and asking her back to which she tells him to give her time (because she has to break up with Enzo). There wasn't much issue with breaking up with Enzo since he could already tell she never loved him. FL and ML started dating but FL also started her nursing studies again and had told ML not to distract her too much or keep her away from her studies. He agreed and let her study, but kept tabs on her and bribed the person in charge of the boardinghouse she lives in.
FL didn't like it as it was a women's boardinghouse yet he kept coming over to visit her, but then she got kidnapped by the Irish mob who had bad dealings with an Italian mafia (Enzo) and thought FL was Enzo's lover. FL found out Enzo was part of the mafia and got upset but she was more worried about her life. ML found out FL is kidnapped and went after Enzo. He was also going to call the cops but Enzo said if he does, FL will really die unless he was given the power to control the cops. ML called up his friend who called up the mayor and they backed Enzo as he went in to get FL. In the whole process FL was shot was saved and the group was caught.
- There's a flashback scene where FL did confess to ML in past timeline but he didn't believe her since he really thought she cheated on him and FL wanted him to give her reason to hold onto him.
- FL continued her studies after recuperating. She moved to Holzman's villa (he is ML's friend who happened to have interest in Isabella). FL and ML stayed together at the villa and lowly dated. FL returned Enzo's gift to him (a watch because he had seen her kept using an old watch before which was actually given by ML before). FL and ML travelled back to England. FL imagined a married life with ML but was scared even though not against it. On the ship she met John Emherst II (he's actually the father of "Jake"). John owns a huge newspaper press. His son John III (Jake) is the successor to his company.
- ML's mother is pleased to see FL again, mainly because she's glad her son is finally getting married. ML was well over marriageable age and trying to get a family so she was worried. FL heard from Eric (ml's younger brother) that Isabella isn't doing so well but didn't agree with FL wanting to see her because of what Isabella had done before with throwing Jake to her which led her to prison.
FL said Isabella is her friend. Eric said she should stay close to his brother to avoid being scammed. He meant it as a criticism because FL is too nice and always get into trouble for her niceness. Upon meeting Isabella, she realized the change overtime. Isabella used to be very idealistic and overtime she realize herself as one person couldn't change anything.
- FL and ML had a very small wedding at a chapel. Their first night ended up being them staying in their room for a few days. FL noticed that ML had gone through good physical therapy since even though he was disable he was still strong.
5 years time skip, there were rumors that ML has two faces, cold when working but when with his wife, he lets her have everything. This is around the Great Depression since ML's business starting to go down. He kept worrying and didn't want to involve FL with his financial problems but FL wanted him to tell her since she always felt upset when her father went bankrupt and didn't tell her anything and just disappeared. ML kept travelling to America to deal with his businesses there. FL and Isabella decided to change their financial scholarship to help women get into medical field to help ppl financially. FL got a letter from America. It was from John (Jake) who remembered himself and had written to her before he dies from an illness. He thanked her for everything and said they could've been friends had they been in different circumstances. FL realized Jake is the son of John II and decided to go to America to meet John II to tell him since his son won't tell his family because of his guilt.
- FL returned to NYC. Great Depression made NYC looked very different. She met John's younger brother (Leonel). He tried to kill FL and actually admitted he half fabricated the letter because apparently John had left half the inheritance to FL and his father went crazy. FL warned him killing her isn't a good idea. She told Leonel that what she had heard from John, she knew Leonel would regret after killing someone because of his character. Leonel eventually dropped murdering her and took her to his father.
- The father was upset to find out his son was dying in a foreign country. He felt more conflicted when he saw his second son because Leonel isn't his biological son but the son of his deceased wife. (When he was born he was fine but as he got older the features look very different so the father knew it was from another man but can't blame his wife who had already died when giving birth, but as a result he doesn't want to leave his company to Leonel at all.) The father thanked FL for helping his son and made a deal with FL. FL doesn't want the inheritance because it'll look bad publicly for her. Instead she told him to use his money to create an award to people who write to empower others and empower them to do so.
- In the end Emherst ended up helping ML with the business and Ian felt bad that he had to rely on FL since he didn't want to include her in his problems. She said it's a wife's privileges to worry for him so he was glad since he's glad she's his wife. Leonel later on tells FL that John loved FL. FL was dense and didn't know. She said John only said they could've been friends. She didn't want to question further.
- ML's prosthetic leg was hurting him. The doctor had told him not to walk on it too much. FL woke up to it and helping him apply ointment. FL had realized life isn't just like a princess marrying a knight and that was the end. The story still continues after marriage. They went to John's funeral and somehow ended up bumping into Enzo who actually knew John. ML wasn't happy and later on FL asked ML if he's upset with Leonel or Enzo. ML complained it's weird that everyone just falls for her.
- One night FL felt she's pregnant and they called in a doctor to check. They ended up having a son whom she named after John. She calls him Johnny, but ML doesn't like that name and calls their son by his middle name, Lewis. He has black hair, cold blue eyes and rosy cheeks, smiles like his mother.
Time skip to 2 yrs. Fl and Leonel remained friends.
- The family went to see the movies and FL was scare to show certain movies since she remembered the PTSD from past timeline. They went to see Wizard of Oz. Ian rented out the whole theater this time though using their son as an excuse that he might cry.
- War broke out again later on and FL was watching ML sleep one time wondering if he's worried about it. She asked what he was dreaming of when he woke up. He said he dreamt of her. He dreamt of knowing life because of her and knowing how to love because of her.
- There's an ending poem by Dylan Thomas, "Death Has No Dominion
Honestly, I never read a story where I hate both the uke and seme since killing stalking. The seme literally is a sociopath who’s obsessed with noncon and wasting my breath on him further would be abysmal. Then the uke constant back and forth is frustrating me. Like if you don’t want to fuck him, then let him fuck those other people, they’re happy to do so.
He constantly says “I don’t want him.. I don’t like the new him” then constantly get jealous. Like either come to terms that the version of him that you loved 10 years ago is gone and stay completely professional or just accept him 100% instead of that dumbass 37%.
They both annoy me, the only person I feel bad for is Hae Yool. He’s literally being assaulted constantly for a company who doesn’t even care whether they can protect him or not. Then he falls for a guy with the blandest personality except for going from drying wall paint and jealousy, then he tries to set his plan in motion by trying to get the manager to follow him which leads to him getting exposed, losing his manager to the guy who exposed him, then when he finally makes a move, his rival sends his psycho sponsor to assault him.
Why are all the comments so upset? He genuinely loved her in the first life as well, they’re from different time periods and he showed his love differently than her. Back then a husband wasn’t to be too affectionate with his wife or he was seen as a pushover or incompetent. He also was under strict surveillance as he was essentially a slave to the government who were the ones who put them together and they actually had power over him. He couldn’t be as close as he wanted.
Not only did he fall for someone who love language was affirmation and he didn’t understand that his little actions weren’t being understood enough, he also had to balance the fact he was lied to and was in a whole another universe. He went from people pissing in the streets, and horses to get around to telsas and toilets that squirt water on your ass. That’s a lot to balance.
He quite literally died because he blew up from grief of losing her. I can see why she’s upset though, because she doesn’t get to see his POV like we do. I feel they both are bad with communication, he probably would’ve changed if she brought it up the first life and she would be more open to listening (possibly not) if he told her what happened in the first life.
The world building of this manhwa is honestly very messy. FL died trying to save ML and after ML sees her dead, he dies as well and goes back in time. There was never another Ciel. FL thinks she got transmigrated in a novel she read but actually she hopped dimensions and went back in time and possessed the body of Irene. The thing I am confused about is that why the "og FL" is a c class healer now when she was an S class healer before they went back in time
True. I honestly think this trope of " I ignored you and treated you like shit only to protect you " is a really lame trope. If someone really cares for you but can't show their love for you the love and care they have for you will still slip out in one way or another and it makes no sense that you would go your whole life not realizing that your husband loves you just because you two have two different love languages.
Hahhh so it's a time travel story? How far back did they travel . I got this down I think , If FL seohyeon travelled back to the past but since there was no body of hers to hop into she possessed Irene's body that was already injured the same way Seohyeon did. Plus she got a family out of it so her God must've listened to her prayers. That's why she's only a low class guide now. With more training she can reach s class. Kinda predictable now how story will go...
Ciel & Seohyeon aside what's up with the mobile tasks for the saintess? That's a whole another plot line & theme
Thank you for answering my queries tho
It wasn’t specified how far they travelled. Also I wasn’t talking about the actual FL of the manhwa. I was talking about "og FL" aka saintesss who didn’t posess any body rather hopped to a different dimension.FL mentioned how saintess was a S class guide but wasn’t compatible with ML so she bullied her who was actually compatible but low class. The saintess later on mentions that she loves how she gets royal treatment when she is only a c class guide, I am guessing it could have something to do with the mobile tasks but then again why did she turn it off in this timeline then when the plot hasn’t really changed much from the previous timeline.
I agree, but once again. This is a man from the period of where wives weren’t really allowed to do much especially if they felt that it was going to be men around. If he was born in her time period I’d definitely say screw him but considering he was born in a time of men being absolutely horrendous then I say I understand, I don’t agree but I understand.
You’re definitely free to have your opinion, most of the comments agree with you. I’m just not in agreement with those comments to the same extent. He’s definitely not free of criticism but honestly, if their communication would’ve been better, things wouldn’t be as bad. This is my last time replying to you though, I’m not here to change your opinion nor am I changing mine. Have a great day. (⌒▽⌒)
By how I see it, there's a big difference between "not be too affectionate" and outright abuse, which is exactly what he did and also, guess what? What he's doing again this time around, just in a different way.
Not being emotionally close is not the same as being a mistreating jerk. Sorry but no excuse for that. If he didn't want to show closeness due to reasons, he could just have left her alone.
TRUE !! But of course it doesn’t excuse his mean demeanour when he was with fl back in Korea. But he still deserves the second chance as per the priest said on how everyone deserves a fair chances. I’m just hoping that he’ll soon realize that his action back in Korea was hurting fl thus resorting her to be cold to him in this current timeline.
PLEASE HAVE COMMUNICATION CIEL
Am I the only one disgusted at how much focus the put on the fact he was ripped and bleeding? Was the goal to make you uncomfortable so you’re aware of how unhinged the red/blue eyed guy was? Or is to appeal to the noncon crowd?
Same here, I stop a lot of times during that scene and eventually just skipped it before I continue reading the story, aside from the rape parts this story have a lot of potential (for me)
I usually can feel nothing with those scenes other than mild frustration because I think it’s lazy writing in bl stories and it’s often romanticized. But they really were able to make me physically uncomfortable in this, like the scene was just revolting and triggering. I’m just confused on what the goal was, was it to really bore into our minds that he’s terrible and not to expect anything out of him? Or is it going to go the lazy route and somehow skip over the trauma and make it be seen as romantic?
I hope it will not become like the other BL stories that the mc would fall in love after being rape a lot of times if the ml simply treat them kindly a little bit, if that man really is the male lead, I hope he does a lot of effort to win the mc.
I think it's because it's in apocalypse settings that the author wants to normalised the blood, or perhaps you are right that they want the ml to appear more insane for doing so, but I think the ml is half zombie. I don't know; I simply feel it. ( ̄∇ ̄")
