i have really high hopes for this story! i always liked the artist from miss sidekick, but the story really took a plunge for the worst with that one! the plot was lost and it was mostly nonsensical gimmicky gags. i think this is a different author though? the plot is progressing smoothly and theres always something eventful in every chapter. I’m liking it so far!!(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I can’t say I’m surprised that some readers think a webcomic is trash just because it isn’t focused on romance... Like guys there is an actual developing story focusing on stardom, stalkers and the psychological aspects of those topics. There are hundreds of webtoons that provide quick hits of fast developing romance in under 15 chapters. If that’s your cup of tea then I won’t judge you for it, but you should be mindful of your own preferences, don’t bash a webtoon because it doesn’t suit your specific tastes. There is nothing objectively wrong with a slow burn story. OOAKR has no plot holes and the relationships between characters are well developed. It seems it is just the lack of romantic moments that is upsetting people.
Wooow chapter 39 was genuinely terrifying. That red headed witch really went all out with her rotten magic. It felt like the webtoon switched genres to horror and psychological! It was really well executed and the following chapter was a blessing! I loved the scene of Yeri running to Erudian and seeing them become closer! I can’t wait for season 2 (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I’m trying really hard to like this because of the beautiful art and unique story premise but the pacing is so bad ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ The details and exposition are glossed over extremely quickly. There’s no time to get to know the characters and form connections before they suddenly start progressing at lightening speed. Here is a reminder that we are LESS than 20 chapters in and the male lead has already gotten extremely attached to the female lead for no foreseeable reason other than proximity. You’d think a duke who’s main characteristic was being cold, cruel and aloof would be more resistant to liking her. It doesn’t feel special when they have cute “couple moments” because it feels like they’ve known each other for only 3 days. I hope the artist, draws for more comics because i truly believe the art is carrying the entire reading experience on its back. This story is similar to low quality manhuas I’ve read in the past. If ya’ll read a lot of manhwa and manhua you KNOW what I’m talking about (≧∀≦)
I see where you’re coming from, but as of now he’s not the “cold duke” because he doesn’t even remember who he is. He only holds that subtle part of his cold nature, other than that he’s completely oblivious on how to treat people. Like, he doesn’t even remember how to read. He also probably felt attraction towards her since no one had treated him well, therefore he never felt affection, so learning this feeling probably made him more in need of her due to his terrible upbringing (even though he doesn’t remember his past doesn’t mean his mental state is all good, like he doesn’t understand what pain is, probably because of the torture he went through)
And it may feel like 3 days but from the amount of times they’ve slept and all, I’m pretty sure it’s at least a few months of them being together. Although the manhwa could have very well glossed over that which I don’t think is a big issue honestly.
Overall I don’t think this comic is that bad, and I feel like ur also glossing over the details, but like it’s definitely not the best one and there are better ones! Either way I just wanted to share my opinion about it, sorry it was so long
These people get on my nerves... Why are they so impulsive? The only character I like is Arjen. Arien is so emotionally driven and childish, it’s like she ACTUALLY turned into a child. Both of them could stand to use their heads and think more. I like how Arjen recognized that even though they may not like it, the palace and royal family is their only protection. Him choosing not to be impulsive and run away with Arien was a mature decision that I would expect from someone that has lived througuh abuse TWICE. (Unless I’m not remembering it right I believe they had issues in their past lives.) The favoritism from the author for Arien is annoying too. These children are TWINS. They are both the main characters so why does it seem all the characters are focused on Arien rather than Arjen most of the time? Another grievence I have is the overwhelming lack of communication. I understand Arien and Arjen not confronting the King over what they overheard, after all they did recently come out of a traumatizing experience with one of their parents. They probably thought they could save themselves from the trouble and heartache by closing themselves off. I don’t like the choice but it was an understandable one. BUT THE KING. WHAT REASON DOES THE KING HAVE TO NOT TALK TO HIS CHILDREN? He knows they’re not comfortable yet which could have influenced his decision to believe a random kid about how Arjen and Arien hate him, but come on. You’re not even going to try and reason with 7 year olds? I’m probably missing stuff or have forgotten parts of the story but honestly it’s just getting tiring. I’m not sure I want to remember, at all. I hope I’m not the only one feeling frustrated over the story.
I know its an act and they know they have to do this but damnnnn when she yells at Eusto that shit hurtsssss
