I guess mangago's getting more normie readers? Before, the featured and popular manga were mostly, if not all, BL. But now they're being taken over by straight romance.
The reworded version from my observation is there are less fujoshi/danshi. Or, perhaps the concentration is different. If you've noticed, a lot of the manga that used to be popular and update are now not updating and most that are updated daily are webtoons which is a small selection of all the yaoi/shounen ai available. If every yaoi/shounen ai reader is concentrated in just webtoons, of course most of the other yaoi/shounen ai manga are going to lose their place in the featured. I'm assuming by the cover of the straight ones are also webtoons. So, instead of mangago getting more "normies" perhaps, yaoi/shounen ai manga are losing their readers and on average, webtoons are out shining the normal manga style, regardless of its content.
