If Ra's beliefs about marriage and fatherhood left you stunned, wait till you hear about about the Na Mosuo tribe in China: even though men are involved in their sister's children's lives, they are not necessarily involved in their own biological children's life. A husband and wife mostly live separated from each other (each with their own separate immediate families), so the men only live with their mother and siblings and help take care of their sisters' children. The male relatives of the mother's side of the family, such as uncles and cousins, are generally the "father figure" to the sister's children only.
Polygamy wasn't invented by Islam and doesn't necessarily work under the same rules of Islam either. So whether it includes muslim families are not is not important. That whole "I can have 72862 wives but if you cheat you're bad" is rooted sexism anyway.
But Ra is arguing against monogamy, not necessarily promoting a specific type of poly-anything. My point is: her argument is exactly what polygamous people say to us all the time as an argument to defend themselves. Libertines too, now that I think about it. It's all about "wanting someone for yourself is selfish"
What do you guys think of Thoth's old prophecy, about "two children of Nut changing Egypt" (as reworded by Thoth himself in chapter 64) ... My bet is that the two children of Nut that it's talking about are most definitely Osiris and Seth, due to their respective reigns changing Egypt *for the worse*... (Osiris' too because, as stated in chapter 35, Osiris secretly destroyed many of Egypt's fertile lands during his own reign, and Seth's reign by doing all that we already know that Seth did...) But do you guys agree? What are your thoughts?
Exactly. I was just checking if I got what you meant because I'm unsure if I remember that fan's theory right. I wanted to ask you in a way that would avoid spoiling the actual theory, haha... (I didn't want to run the risk of getting that theory's owner angry... lol, maybe I've become too paranoid?)
Anyone else noticed how Neftys' headpiece began to crack in the latest chapter (chapter 69) just like Isis' fingers did back in chapter 57, when she was attempting to flood Egypt? That's because, just like Neftys now, Isis was also "going against her divine identity" in chapter 57, by attempting to manipulate the natural cycle of the annual flooding of the Nile just to destroy Egypt for a petty revenge... So no, gods can NOT kill humans without legitimate reasons in *this* story, people... They have great limitations about when, where and why they are *occasionally* allowed to kill off humans.
All in all, completely recommended! I'm so glad I decided to stick with this one even if the art wasn't the "best" that I've seen around... The storytelling, pacing and overall execution are superb, definitely making up for it, as it never drags out yet still manages to get emotional when it needs to (and it so happens the art being simpler even kinda turned out to the story's advantage, since it didn't lure the reader's attention too much away from the narrative... a problem I didn't realize other webtoons suffered). Definitely a must read!
I completely understand why the second prince can't stop staring at Chase... *drool* He's such a talented and sexy irreverent punk... Rather than those other disgusting, psycho types, Chase here is the *real* definition of what a *true* "sexy bad boy" is supposed to be like! (and I wanna see you all taking down notes, everyone!)
His lil bro barely did anything at all, and he was already telling him it was all over... Seems like he couldn't wait to get his lil bro out of harm's way, lol. I sense a brocon's over protectiveness secretly flaring up there... (and with that total poker face, haha).
I didn't think of it that way, I hope that's what's really happening.
