I hate being that one woke friend but kinda wish we’d stop supporting these authors and their novels it gets to a point where it’s just torture porn and not some deep manhwa that teaches life lessons!

the art eats so bad, if this artist used their talent for a well written good story i would literally cry, but that aside...
are you really one to speak on what fiction people should and shouldnt support? let me remind you that you are in fact on a pirating site.
also just the other day i read this book called cows (it was well written), but holy fuck it was worse (content wise) than all of these "dark romance" manhwas/novels could ever be, i dont think im going to be able to eat meat anymore for a while.

Wow this is so true it reminds me of when I read Emergence a few years ago and in between the constant non-consensual clappings it taught me the valuable life lesson of not doing drugs and not fucking your family. Too bad we can’t all be gleaning aesops from our torture porn. What’s even the point of living this stupid baka lifestyle anymore. Smh.

Yeah I know I am on a pirate site pretty sure i know how damaging these sites are as an artist myself don’t need that told / //
it’s starts to get to a point where ur fiction starts to affect the way u start to see reality in a way when ppl start to see rape and sa as stuff that just “happens”
I think ppl should step away from these comics when society or Korea starts to only write sa in practically 90% of manhwa and when sa gets taken a minor inconvenience in the law then I think we should start looking at how the media can influence these opinions!
Fictions can really start to change the way u see things it’s why ppl with porn addiction minds starts to fucking warp dawg!
I think u can definitely read whatever u want it’s ur LIFE BUT SUPPORTING IT please get some type of help
SORRY FOR THE RANT

I’m being sarcastic lol. The idea that twisted porn needs to teach valuable lessons tickles me quite a bit. But being entirely serious rn, if we’re going down the fiction impacting reality and vice versa route, did it ever occur to you that maybe the Korean BL industry (which is predominantly made up of women) is like this as a response to the androcentric culture they live in? Maybe to some it seems like fringe fetishization, but frankly, people want to talk all big instead of examining the circumstances under which these works are made. And that’s not just me being vehemently pro-female sexual expression. You’re speaking about the attitude and laws surrounding sexual assault in South Korea as a result of nsfw manhwa when I’d argue it’s the other way around 100%. And since I am vehemently pro-female sexual expression, I’m just gonna say that fujoshis making porn are not comparable at all to the real life crimes you’re talking about lmao.

thats the thing, people have different thresholds with what they are comfortable with.
its fiction at the end of the day, normal people can separate it from real life and there are also no real life affects on rape and sa that you can point to as a direct correlation result from fiction.
porn addiction is another story, you should seek help for that because addictions effect personal reality and quality of life.
but saying that just on the basis for someone choosing to support a fiction you are not comfortable with? i cant agree on that.

Art is always going to be political everything in todays society is political I hate that ppl always complain about how deep things aren’t and if it’s porn it’s porn but it always has some truth behind it ,I don’t think it’s a result or it’s causing sexual assault cases to rise
And is rape and sa really sexual expression! I am pro let women do what they want but if that were the case would be getting more different story’s not some rape fantasy or fetish

Sorry but can’t we not look as Japan as whole on why fiction can cause rape/sa I mean half of that Society is ok with csa which pretty has harmed children!
Fiction is fiction ( do what u want at the end of the day I can’t stop ppl from reading what ppl want) do whatever u want
but Ive seen comments on these mangas and where ppl start to just get use to the rape/sa of characters where they just shrug it off/manga that aren’t even “dark” some start to use it as a plot device and just act as if not sm that affects ppl.when we as a fandom start to just shrug it off then I think it gets to a point where we have to look on how we view these serious topics!

I mean, yeah, art is oft political. I don't think I ever disagreed with that? I'm just saying that porn made by women isn't really as insidious as people make it out to be, and trying to hold porn to some kind of moral standard is never going to work out well because you can portray ALL porn as bad if you wanna go full radfem. My entire point about sexual expression is that women in these countries are often the ones being abused, both physically and sexually. So it makes total sense that a lot (But not all) of the pornography made by women features men in those situations. I do believe it's a case of cultural dissonance at play. I think it's cool and all to examine the reasons behind our fetishes but I'd much rather save that attitude for like....men? I don't really believe that fujoshis (and using that word unironically is so cringe) are in a position to be utterly desensitized or come to find rape acceptable in real life because if you're a woman, gay straight, cis, trans, white, poc, etc. rape is your reality. Whereas the cases you're referring to mostly apply to men: who are actually empowered by pornography to be violent to others. I believe there is an inherent difference in violent porn made by men for men and violent porn made by women for women so maybe I'm the one who's too woke lol.
