I love FL she is such a baddie, ML is a green forest who respects and supports FL without treating her like damsel in distress, trash ex-husband is suffering so satisfying to read, and the manhwa is so unserious at times makes me laugh a lot at times lol 10/10 recommend it a lot <3
There was an ongoing isekai manhwa with shaman FL and emperor ML who is hunted by vicious ghosts (he is cursed). Basically, FL’s father is abusive trash duke who marries her off to the “tyrant” emperor, but og FL commits su!c!de. So new FL reincarnates and she marries emperor, but they care for each other and their banter is amazing. She also makes weird things to ward off ghosts out of wood, like a statue that looks like dildo lool please anyone who knows lemme know the name!!
Ugh why the temple is always an evil bitch, like I get it in real history religious institutions always used their power to control masses, but at least in fictional world let us have temples who work for a good cause
Bro author is trying so hard to make it like BJ Alex, but it’s gonna flop hard I think. Because first of all, Alex was WAY FUCKING LESS TOXIC than this horsey. He was not a narcissist either and had empathy and common sense. So that’s why, him realizing his mistakes, trying to redeem himself and asking for forgiveness was not out of character and made sense. And I personally, and I think a lot of people also ate that redemption arc up, because he was genuinely regretting his actions and was chasing after Dong Gyun like a dog lol
Second of all, Dong Gyun was also wayyy less traumatized and mentally wounded compared to our poor baby Kim Dan. Obviously I’m not undermining his past traumas (before Alex), but like at least he had friends, more stable life, and he had much more self-respect. So that’s why, when he finally accepted he was not treated well and said fuck off to Alex, it was again, not out of character and made sense. But here, I feel like Kim Dan in season 1 vs 2 are not consistent. He never accepted that he was treated like shit. Even in birthday card, he wrote about how he can finally breathe near this horsey (oh boy), and how he is happy now. Shit, even when he left, he never acknowledged that Jaekyung was being ass not trusting him, and said that it was his own mistake, and that he was not worthy being his physician. So like, him suddenly saying out of nowhere that Jaekyung always wanted his body and never respected him as a person feels kinda out of character to me, because unlike in BJ Alex where Dong Gyun slowly realizes the mistreatment, here such unfolding was never built-up before, unless he visited a therapist behind the scenes. To me, it feels like author is trying a bit hard to push the same BJ Alex scenario here as well, but it feels so out-of-character for both of them. At this point, they don’t need romance; they need therapy. Like asap
I really like how ML and FL converse about casual things and even deep topics like their ambitions, expectations from a relationship & romantic partner etc. like this was such a breath of fresh air. In almost majority of shoujo manhwas, MLs and FLs never have proper talks, so their emotional connection always felt shallow to me.
On the other side, one thing I think doesn’t really make sense is that how they portray that the duke’s family is one of the strongest and respected one in the empire etc., but them bitches disrespect his sister and his fiancee so casually. Like even though this takes place in a very misogynistic world, there is still a hierarchy, so if you disrespect a lady of a prominent house, you basically disrespect that house itself. Bro even that aside, a mere marquis technically insults the empress, mother of the empire in front of everyone in the imperial court, and the emperor sits there like

ch 59 and I think I'm dropping. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, it's just I think I'm tired of reading manhwas where FL is the one who always solves things and all the other characters are there for just decoration. I think it's not only this manhwa, in general, in iseaki manhwas it's always FL versus the rest of the world, but I wanna see others being involved in matters too. As someone else said, the relationships she developed with others are also shallow and one dimensional; I get that she has trauma from her past life, but still, I would rather prefer the story digging deeper into that trauma of hers and showing how she recovers and slowly learns to build deeper connections with others and to trust and rely on others more. Maybe it will happen later in the story, but for now, it doesn't seem the story goes somewhere near there, it's just been the continuous cycle of death attacks on FL and FL being big brain and solving them. Atp it got boring for me since there is no revelation about anything at all, about who the FL actually is, what happened to og Charl and what was the relationship between her and ML (only hints to their certain interactions that wasn't in novel), who is the villain and what their motives are etc etc. And on top of that, author adds more and more new "mysteries" without clearing anything so maybe the story will get more interesting if more clearance is provided idk for now it's just the same things being repeated in different forms.
Also, I really like the ML and wish his story would be explored more. He has this usual being smart, powerful etc. ML buffs but on top of that, he has such a sweet and caring personality, and is very respectful and supportive towards FL, not your usual possessive "You're mine, my object" ahh ML. He is a whole green forest <3 and I hope he gets more depth into his story and character

At this point I don't see any believable redemption arc for JK cause this man is so oblivious to his actions, extremely self-centered and has lack of empathy, like how he is gonna come clean I can't wrap my head around. Like okay he is chasing Dan, but he shows 0 regret for his actions; he just chases him for selfish reasons again, not showing any remorse. Even when he finds him, he prolly gonna blame Dan for "running away" and "leaving" him. The author didn't show ONE... just one good quality about him all this time, so I'm afraid the redemption arc will be either weak or not believable/out of character.

I feel like at this point, characters are really unstable, and both of them do a lot of weird out-of-character shit that makes the reading experience less enjoyable
