
First off, not everyone copes with trauma in similar ways. Age regression can help shield someone when they feel endangered. Dissociation can also do the same. There are MANY forms of coping and not everyone can use just any form.
Secondly, trauma affects people differently. Doesn’t matter who or what traumatized you, you’re experiences are different from everybody else’s. Experiences can be similar, but none will be carbon copies of another. All experiences and traumas are valid. So if someone invalidates your experiences, they are in the wrong and don’t try to downplay your stuff because other’s won’t listen.
