One of the most traumatic stories i have ever read. But the way they talk about that traumatic experiences is very realistic as well. Like they dont get better in a day, they dont forget bad days. Both fl and ml suffered because of their actions. And it was like tooth for a tooth. (One made him blind other caused the miscarriage, and hang her literally-his part was kind of mistake though-). After these she was not okay , she was tired, she lost her voice. But through the ml's perseverence and sacrifice (he took bullets) , amd her courage, they end up together. I really loved how author keep plot realistic; such as it took months to heal after his injuries, her mental health did not get better suddenly; her fear to scarfs and covering her face because of the hanging... small details that make you feel the atmosphere.
My only complain would be that there is no side stories to see their happiness and also death off old lady made me so sad..
Btw FL is one of the most rational and cold headed ones I have readed so far. Like even when her mental health was bit good after the things happening she did not blame anyone, not even herself . She saw it as eye to eye. Struggled about what to do afterwards. And she is one the few FL that actually considered her pride in the relationship. She did not want to be the "forgiven" mistress.. she wanted to be equal and she did.

Helen was so cute but i can not get over that Ml went to concentration camp (jail) that she was miscarriaged to get stones and soils for the graver of their first baby. And noone even her parents doesn't know the first one but just two of them.... i can say that Fl is very brave to go through second pregnancy after everything she experienced.
Tbh I can not see ml as a good person after what he did to her when she miscarriaged . Even if she was lowly prisoner, even she was pregnant from his arch enemy, a woman just lost her baby shouldn't hear those words. Also not forgeted that he refused her to get medical help... he also ignored that she was forced to do that (he investigated even his parents and found that she was forced) and rather than just killing them her and her family in an instant, he tortured them...
Like I said , I still can not forget how she lost the baby...

I couldn't forgive ml for killing remaining members to keep her safe. He could have hide them or better from the very start he could make her seem like death in that fire and let the emperor have other tribe girls (choosing a willing one to be empress). Or he could kill the other prience very early even taking opposition.
I just dont like it when innocent die on others love affairs. Ml particularly choose the one option that kills her all family members. Knowing maid is also her family member doesn't even help. And they even made her maid infertile so she is sole successor again..

the fact that he cruelly offered her mother to harm her so prince will be not interested will be the stupidest choice I would suggest. Like he did not even intentionally killed the prince's maid in the fire (het set it up but the tradrgy for prience is not something you can set up) , so the result of prience being disgusted by fire scars is unpredictable. Betting that his lover not be rated for 10 years by insane-rapist minded- prience just because of a scar is .... he surely knows one can cover face and do bad things..
Also he has to keep killing her family members throughout this period.
