I'm not saying people should hate lily but I can see why they do. She's really dense and naive. And Anna didn't really reject Lily. Lily literally got sold to the duchess and Anna is just a maid. Anna is putting Lily's well being above her feelings cuz in this situation, it's kinda impossible for them to get together lol Lily doesn't even have a family anymore + the duchess has power and we don't know what she might do if she doesn't get what she wants.
