Y'all y'all I read something on Reddit saying Kunikida (and now Tanizaki) didn't die bc when they were hit, they fully liquidized but when teruko (the red hair girl) got hit, her clothes remaining so maybe Tanizaki used his ability. (I'm high on copium).
If I were to guess what character is likely to die next, maybe it would be Lucy idk.

im pretty sure it's just sucking their souls in so I have a theory thast it should just be storing them and atsushi could bring them bac using his mc plot armor

But I think the small detail of terukos clothes remaining is also a significant thing that asagiri knew people would overlook, but ur right, I don't think we'll have any important characters dead so soon. Even Aku got back to a human (I'm guessing partially bc Bram did some thing to make him a knight after Bram told Aya he'd be her knight)
