1) Shimanami Tasogare (not BL but a touching queer story about found family and self-love and community acceptance. So beautiful it's the only manga I ever downloaded onto my hard drive)

2) No. 6 (Sci-fi post-apocalyptic rebuilt utopia setting with an unpleasant wave of deaths and magical elements, promises, how innocence is ruined and cynicism is cracked and how you need a balance of the two to not just survive but thrive. It is so much more than BL. It has won every yaoi poll on tumblr, beating even Yuri on Ice)

3) Samishigariya no Love Letter (a boy is left with a mysterious tin where he can exchange letters with a boy from the past. It's not anything special, plot-wise, but I keep coming back to this again and again - it's just like that)

4) Cherry Magic! 30 Years Of Virginity Can Make You A Wizard?! (The TV adaptation is better. BUT. This is actually very good, wholesome, funny, and BOUNDARIES GET RESPECTED. 30 year old salaryman Adachi gains the power to read minds by touching them and discovers his perfect, popular coworker is in love with him! This has so much heart you can't help but squeee)

5) Ao no Flag (Not BL primarily as it was serialised on shonen jump, but it is THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL ROMANCE, with multiple queer main characters and the cutest vibes ever. Seriously. Even with the het main couple you will not be disappointed. The ending is PERFECT. do not read any comments before starting otherwise you may get spoiled)

6) One Room Angel (turns out Harada can make happy stuff. Guy gets stabbed, wakes up to find himself fully healed with an angel roommate with no memories)

7) Vassalord (Vampire and Vampire priest live together, solve crimes and piece by piece heal their traumas in this typical early 2000s manga. I don't remember the plot in its entirety but it really is amazing)
