To establish a good relationship with a child and the child's family, child groomers might do several things: They might try to gain the child's or parents' trust by befriending them, with the goal of easy access to the child. A trusting relationship with the family means the child's parents are less likely to believe potential accusations. Child groomers might look for opportunities to have time alone with the child, which can be done by offering to babysit; the groomers may also invite the child for sleepovers, for opportunistic bed sharing. They might give gifts or money to the child in exchange for sexual contact, or for no apparent reason. Commonly, they show pornography to the child, or talk about sexual topics with the child, hoping to make it easy for the child to accept such acts, thus normalizing the behavior. They may also engage in hugging, kissing, or other physical contact, even when the child does not want it.
The uke likes the sex, he’s just extremely shy. This is stated many times. The miscommunication a lot of people are experiencing through these panels is mostly due to horribly poor translation. In the raws, there’s MUCH more dialogue, discussion, verbal consent. They are mature adults after all.
I get so much hate for ripping into the poor translations I see on these sites, but correct translation is SO important and this is the exact reason why. No one here seems to fully understand what EXACTLY these two are saying to each other, they’re only getting the gist.
Also before I forget: It really breaks my heart that people are so uncomfortable with this story because it genuinely is one of the better ones out there in terms of realistic, mature gay relationships. They really do talk out almost everything and are so kind and gentle to each other. There's no power struggle and there's little drama. Yes, the sex is rough but that's how they like to have sex.
All-in-all, No Love Zone is just a simple but sexy heartwarming story about a guy who had a huge crush on a classmate in high school, but gets in over his head and falls hopelessly in love with the same guy when they meet again despite his best efforts to not to; it's a simple story about a guy who has been in abusive relationships with assholes for most of his life and can't wrap his head around the fact that there is actually a person who wants to do good by him, cherishes him. If you like stories about healthy adult relationships I implore you to not give up on this one. Just wait until a better translated version is released.
