What an interesting story.....with a few buts.
A boy like Kisaragi in real life would never be a good boyfriend/SO, he's a natural jerk, never say anything, yes he kinda change in the end, but who wouldn't in new-found love. Any girl apart from Hiyoshi wouldn't last a year with him. He's the average project boy that's harmful for any girl. Anyway, though Kisaragi's character was a typical-shoujo-bad-boy, Hiyoshi's refreshing chara could balance it, so all is well.
Also, TBH this story could be written better without those cliche shoujo scenes (book falling, ML aces literally everything, ML helps FL control the class, the bad guys, FL teach ML by spooning her).
I've read too much shoujos, I just can't help it
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Coz I hate project guys. I hate to see anyone stuck with the ilussion of "maybe I can change him" and think that it's ok for anyone to treat you like a jerk then ended up miserable. Sometimes shoujos can be dangerous for young girls.
OOT one of my closest friend's life is ruined 180° just because of a "project guy". She went from "the most succesfull woman in our circle, an inspiration for our little girls in the future" to "the one who borrow money every month and a lesson learned for the next gen". Just because she choose to care for a random jerk, it's just so sad.
This is one perfect story. No unnecessary drama. A genuinely unique FL character with tidy plot, a rare gem.
TBH I'm not a fan of the author's "main work", the Matsunaga, since the characters are not really interesting (just Matsunaga going shirtless every three chapters and plain-cute FL), and I thought the other works must be similar, but this one title change my opinion.
IMHO all of the naruto fanboys should read this as it's own manga, not as another narutosasuke-centric story. Once you get rid of all those bias and expectation, you will surely notice the good in this manga.
For me personally, the plot is good and well thought, the characters also well developed.
Anyone who complained for how it's not like Naruto (the manga) should be reminded that Boruto is not drawn and written by Kishimoto-sensei.
FYI, I used to "hate" Naruto & Sasuke in the original manga, but boruto's writer made them (and their relationship) so much better and deeper than mere friends-turned-rival-turned-sidekicks characters.
Good job for Boruto creators.
Nice art-work is wasted on this super-cliche story. I've read mangaka-san's other story, kirai something, a very cliche one and I thought maybe her other works would be better. But I was wrong.
I thought HC comic (the red-white-blue stripes on top of the cover) equals quality, but this mangaka is proving me wrong.
I'll still try to read the rest of her other works tho.. I'm a hidden gem hunter ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Eh, nevermind.. turns out sensei is the mangaka of Tsuiraku JK to Haijin Kyoushi. A very nice and unique slice of life manga. So, the "bad" works was actually not a representation of her overall skill.
The oneshots one (senken shounen something) was also good and refreshing.
Well senpai
If u find a hidden gem
Don't forget to tell me
I wanna know it toi (ノ≧∇≦)ノ
I keep the shoujos that I want to reread in my lists, I put them in different categories (based on quality and length, there are class 1-6, C1 is the best stuff...for me). Just check them out if u have the time. Hidden gems usually in C2-C4.
