it just pains me that lyle was lowk painted as someone who’s insecure and misunderstands things easily and ash comes to save the day by reassuring him. like okay! that’s so caring of ash. but it’s not like lyle was acting like that unprovoked? his friends were so ass bringing up hazel in their shared household. he wasn’t being immature by not communicating - he asked for space bc he has to sort it out, but when he was ready to talk, his trigger (hazel) just happened to be there. he’s BOUND to misunderstand things. idk man i just want to see Ash grovel i’m tired of him being the “right” one every time. mayb im the immature one atp idk

I think it's their coping mechanisms. Karlyle is like 30 and if you are taught to bottle up your emotions for that long you can't shake it off easily, even if you have a honest partner. Jealousy and love are new concept for him. Ash gives off a lot of people pleaser vibes. He wants to seem good to everyone so he just waves off their flaws and in order to protect his partner he deals with his problems behind the scenes.
